Members suggested Meguiar's Gold Class, inexpensive car wash soaps, wash/wax products, Lucas Quickwax for touch-ups between wax jobs, and a wash/wax formula recommended by a mobile cleaning person.
Main viewpoints
Several members favored RV or automotive wash/wax products, using small measured amounts in a bucket and rinsing or drying with a squeegee or microfiber towels.
One member said ordinary dish soap can remove road grime cheaply, but another member cautioned against hand dishwashing detergent because they had seen it damage car finishes.
For better shine, one member recommended filtered rinse water and microfiber towel drying, though they said simple wash and rinse still gave good results.
Bottom line
The topic produced several product suggestions, but no single detergent or protectant was agreed on as best.

ANY dish soap will work. You typically don't have to use a lot. All you want to do is cut the road grime. And regardless of what many advertise, ALL soaps will cut some of the wax from your previous wax job, it's a given. But a wax job deteriorates just by being out in the open anyways. We've purchased the el-cheapo "car wash soap" from Walmart and it worked just fine in cutting any and all road grime and was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay cheaper than bigger name brand stuff.

I use any wash/wax that I find at a good price . Use 3 oz or as directed into a bucket and will do one side and end . Dump it and finish the coach with a other bucket . As I finish a section , I'll squeege to remove excess water . If doing a quick wax touch up I use Lucus Quickwax , Works great as a touchup between waxing .
I have tried several wash/wax formulas and found this one to be far superior when it comes to cleaning and shine. A remote cleaning guy tipped me off on this one. If you want showroom results, rinse with filtered water and towel it off with microfiber towels. I just wash, rinse, and get great results. You can do your whole coach with a quarter cup.
