Hi, I’m new.

Previous, American Tradition and Prevost pusher owner. Thought we where done with RVing for a while but ended up with a Class B Era with Full rear bath and slide.

Honest I love ours in every way but this Stupid Murphy bed in the Era built in the slide. Construction wise, it’s poorly installed and the motors have pulled loose from the floor and rod is out. So it’s been a manual bed for my parents on there 21 day trip and now my wife and my 11 day trip.

Why in the World did they not install a nice sofa bed in the slide. It would have made the largest living space in a class B. As it is, the bench is unusable and the window behind the bed is unusable unless the bed it down but who wants to be in it with the bed down unless laying on it ….

So I’m wanting to either find an sofa/bed that lays flat! Or have one built into the slide.
Has anyone retro fitted a sleeper sofa in there slide and removed the Murphy bed and all the hardware?

Sorry!
That seems to come under the heading of "personal choice"!
My choice when facing sleeping on a sofa bed is to just lay on the floor, as I've never had a good night's sleep on a sofa!
But that is one of those things that is certain to vary with what we have each found, so no complaints except it likely tells us why they tried the Murphy?

Different strokes for different folks!!
But I do fully agree that I would not want the Murphy bed, either!

But to get specifics on what others might do, they will need to know which RV, year, model and floor plan you have as there are thoughsands of different options.
To look at the online info, they will need to know more specifics of what you have.

Thanks for the reply

I know you think coming off in a deflecting manner as if it’s a preference. Fact is, if you do not have a 170m with slide you don’t have a clue how tight this setup is because of the Murphy bed.

They had the largest living space and best bath design had they designed a better bed/sofa….. and it’s not hard to make it a flat sofa bed!

But thanks for trying to belittle my interested in anyone else having issues and tried a sleeper sofa.

There are plenty of threads discussing the Murphy bed issues in general

Thanks
Brian

I’m shocked at the quality of construction , sad
