Completed the dinette drawer additions on our 2108FBS this afternoon. My cabinet maker came by this morning, picked up the drawer face slabs we bought from Winnebago, cut them down to size, came back and installed them for us..

Dear BcBorn,
That looks like a fantastic upgrade! We own a 2021 2108DS so our dinette looks pretty much identical to yours, so I have a few questions, if you don't mind. 1) What do you mean you ordered drawer face slabs from Winnebago? They sold you matching slab fronts that you had cut to size? 2) it looks like you also cut away the original opening of the door frame to accommodate the width of the drawers, correct? 3) what length are the drawer tracks you installed? 4) Were those drawers the deepest you could easily fabricate, or did you want them that depth?
Thanks. Your pictures are very helpful in my quest to duplicate your fine outcome!

Hello, yes I Went to my Winnebago Dealer and they gave me a list of all the doors and drawer fronts in the colour of our cabinetry (Random Walnut). What they couldn't tell me what direction the grain pattern went. If it went with the width or height measurement.

So I ordered the closest door front (height and width) to my required width. As I was not sure if the door would have the routered hinge location cut into it I had to assume yes so added an additional 2" (to be cut off) The door slabs did not have any millwork done to them so I ended up with plenty of cutoff.

The part number for my slab (x2) was 276378

Description was Door-Flat 20.5 x 20.5 HDF CC-09C/ Random Walnut.

The edge banding (Trim Tape) P/N 277922

Description Tape-Trim 1" Gen CC-09C/Random Walnut.

I used 18" slides and had the drawer boxes made 19" long, these would be for food. I wanted to save some space for other storage thus the reason to not go longer.

I cut out the structure that held the door hinge and removed the piece of veneer on that side too.

On the other side I removed both vertical structure pieces (prior to doing so glued in a new vertical strip to the veneer panelling and Brad nailed down from the curved ply. I made a picture fame of my required opening, clamped it inplace and using it as a guide routered out the structure I needed removed. The cut took the verticals and the veneer at the same time leaving a clean cut. To support the downward force (didn't change horizontal framework) when sitting, I put 90 degree metal angle brackets in the two upper corners.

Great upgrade. I've considered doing the same. I've also considered installing exterior doors like the ones for the passthrough storage. Never having to remove the cushions and lift the board to access the under seat storage would be nice.
