DC/DC Charger in 3rd Gen Tacoma for 2023 Micro Minnie 2108FBS

I have a 3rd Gen Tacoma Limited (2016 - 2023) and want to install a DC/DC Charger in my 2108 to charge /maintain my 300AH Lithium Battery.

Reading other forums, many have reported issues with getting a DC/DC Charger to work with the 3rd Generation Tacoma. Unsure if it affects the same generation of 4runner and other Toyota models as well.

The issues I have read is that the Alternator is a variable voltage alternator and the voltage changes based on many factors, some for economy reasons. With the voltage changing the trailer installed DC/DC charger tends to drop out, cycle or not get the battery to full charge to name a few. I have been told a smart isolator like the redarc SBI12 is what is required.

Has anyone had success here and if so what did you do, do you have pictures of your install.

Victron XS DC/DC Charger arrived and installed yesterday.

Will be a few more months before we get to set it up and try it out.

Set up the Victron XS for lithium and works flawlessly.

When traveling I run the fridge of the Xantrex Inverter Charger.

The roof solar and the DC DC Charger both in play. When we arrive at our destination, battery charge is down very little.

With the new smart alternators I think the start/stop charging voltage or what ever Victron calls it can be changed. I think I set my EcoFlow to 13.6v. I arrived at that number by watching the battery voltage as soon as I tuned my key off and keeping the start/stop higher than that by .4 volts.
