Dangerous slide corners

Just took my friends wife to emergency room to
get five stiches in her head. We have all "Been There", She hit the corner of the slide out. This is a safety issue, and it would seem simple for the mfgs to put a guard on these corners, or at least make the corners round. I saw a see-ya with soft plastic overlays on the corners, that extent out further
than the sharp metal corners.

Since you mentioned it,I'm sporting a pretty decent bump and scrape right this minute,as I bonked the BR slide on Friday during my dish install...Saw the Big Dipper and several other things as I hit the floor...

My BR slide even has plastic "protector" pieces on the edges,but they're almost pointed....

Dealer said a lot of folks are using those swimming "noodles" and making a slit in them and sliding them on the exposed edges.

I see quite a few slide corners covered with the plastic foam tubes used in swimming pools.
Seems like it might be a good idea.
I haven't had stiches yet but did have a pretty good scrape.

The swimming pool tubes are a good idea. How about pipe foam insulation available at any hardware store and it is already pre-slit.

I use some to cover my windshield wipers when parked. The grey is kinda invisible, but maybe the bright colors might be added safety.

I use the swimming pool noodles on my rear slide...I let it hang down bout 2 inches further than the slide corner....you can make 4 covers out of one noodle....sure has saved my head a few times...

Okie,I started out thinking I wouldn't do it,but as bad as my noggin's hurtin' I am seriously leaning that way....Would be nice to maybe find some dark color ones...I'm just glad I had a ball cap on.

You could go to a Hardware store and buy pipe insulation. It comes in center dia of 1/2 or 5/8 The 1/2 ID is a good tight fit and comes in dark black or gray. The other cover is a Tennis ball. Cut a slit in the tennis ball and fit the corner into the slit. The bright color should remind you to take them off before moving your slids in!

My rear slide has one plastic "corner cover" ...not much help. I use the pool noodles on mine, and the pipe insulation foam on my wipers. The pool noodles is much denser stuff so I prefer it for the "head knocking" protecition. Now if I could just stop running into the slide between the noodle and the side of the coach!!! Maybe I need to pad the bottom two feet while it is out

Anyone come up with a solution for the mirrors?? I tend to forget them more so than the slides. Good Miles

I'm now thinking of writing a book....it'll be called "Slide Walking for Dummies"...

They've got one of those "For Dummies" books for just about everything else...right?

Studied the problem while walking around in pain one day holding my head.

Think the problem is that the hazard objects (mirror and bedroom slide) are just above eye level outside perifrial(sp) vision.

Seems anything attatched to the objects that hangs down to bring the hazard into view would solve the problem...

See, that is how I got the better half to fix it!

Got a great idea that works well from a fellow camper who used those $1.99 foam tube noodles they sell for kids to use in the pool. Slit them with a sharp knife and mold to suit. Store underneath when not in use. With their brilliant colors they're hard to miss seeing and sure dull the pain if you're dumb enough to hit it anyway (I speak of experience of course!) ...good traveling.

Head bumping is a disadvantage of owning a diesel. When you guys dump your air you're too low.

Now us gas guys have no where to go but up, up and up.
