Damaged Solar Panel on 2024 Winnebago View 24D

I took Winnebago motor home to shop several days ago to see if additional solar panel could be added and was informed that my current panel has damage and has water inside. I have a Winnebago 24d 2024, does anyone know if this would be a warranty item, I bought everything used with 13,000 miles and well taken care of. Does anyone know of issues with these panel?

Without knowing what caused the damage to your panel, it's doubtful that there is any warranty relief for you. Winnebago uses Zamp (now Dometic) panels and they are readily available and pretty reasonable to replace.

On 2026 model year View/Navions Winnebago is using Xantrex solar panels. But I have no knowledge about when they made the switch. I know previously they used Zamp and sometimes Sunpower panels .

About the OPs problems and desire to add panels… I’d suggest not using the dealer for this and I’d also have some doubts about what they’re telling cpl0199. If it was me I’d find a nearby solar panel tech/installer for this kind of work. And many RV mobile techs specialize in solar installs. The vast majority of dealers are clueless about solar and technology stuff. Well, truth be told most RV dealers are clueless about just about anything.

I fully agree with trying to find the best person for each repair we may need on RV. It is not that RV tech are not trying but it is really difficult to find someone who has a good full range of everything on an RV. If we look around we find tire guys, Air conditioner guys and so on. Not possible for one person to have all the electrical needs from batteries to solid state, radio to backup cameras.
So if we can sort out who does solar panels, that is a person who is more likely to be good at it since he is not also expected to know how to change tires and patch a flat!
If no good choices pop up in your area, perhaps try folks who do mods and custum build vans as they are doing lots of van mods that require solar!

My 2023 24D has ZAMP 100W panels up top, and it was a really easy process to add another one as they were sold in kits specifically for our Winnebagos. But that was back when ZAMP was ZAMP. They were purchased by Dometic and all their products are being rolled into Dometic/Go Power. I didn't know Winnebago changed suppliers.
