We are traveling to Glacier and check engine light just appeared.
Ford App says catalytic converter.

Assuming you have a PO420 code there are lots of things to check that can set that code. The good news is that it likely won't cause you any drivability issues and you can probably fix it when your trip is finished. https://www.way.com/blog/p0420-code...icates that,released through the exhaust pipe.

Hi Kellylynn,
If I had to guess, it is from ethanol in the fuel. Try to get low or zero ethanol fuel and see if that fixes it. Your Godzilla motor is very new, and the only thing we have been seeing in some of them is spark plug wires that get too hot and fail.

I’d check the wire to the oxygen sensor on the catalytic converter. See if it’s been cut or is unplugged.

When my Cat was stolen and I had to drive with the oxygen sensor missing on the way to the repair shop I got that check engine light.

Your cat has obviously not been stolen… you would know that immediately if it had been. So maybe the wire to the sensor is adrift somehow?
