I changed the waste valve in a Itasca 27K for the gray water. It has a macerator pump that pumps the gray water over the rear axle to the black water outlet. I had broken the handle on the valve because it was getting very hard to open & close. It seems like a straight forward easy job with some gray water that can't be pumped out . Not much gray water & soap scum but no place for it to go but in the compartment!
On the new valve I drilled a 1/8 hole to spray silicone lube to stop future trouble. You screw in a #10 self tapping screw to seal the hole. More time spent cleaning up than replacing valve!
I also drilled a hole in the black water valve. Spayed some silicone into it. Works slick now!
