There are two fans that exhaust air with the skylights open in out 2024 Micro Minnie. Next to the fans is a metal box. wires go in and wires go out, suggesting they're a transformer. A label next to the fans says 12v, so there should be no need for a transformer. Does anyone know what the little metal boxes are?

Possibly they are meant as a point to connect wire that are part of the fan to the wires in the RV. I have also seen these have the different wires run in and through the box but the connections done outside of the box. Battery and ground in from the load center, connect to battery and ground wires out to the fan? Possibly with fan speed control switch?
Not all RV builders are craftsmen that understand what they are meant to do!!
Electrical codes call for connections to be made "inside" the box!

Agreed, the boxes have sharp edges with no grommets for the wires to be protected. They also block some 25% of the airflow and disrupt the flow for the rest of the area.
I removed them entirely.

Our 2025 2108TB has the boxes which are supposed to enclose the wiring connections to the fan, but don't instead, they pass through the box with the connections on the outside an only one no-short on one side and bare, sharp sheet metal on the other. Uhhhggg. Just one minor bit of shoddy electrical work in my rig. I'll spare everyone the 120v wiring horror rant.
