An RVer who downsized to a 2026 View 24T is looking for an HD/4K-capable Blu-ray player that fits a cabinet roughly 7 inches deep beside the TV, where the slide and Murphy bed controls are located. Although streaming is available through Wi-Fi or Starlink, the member prefers occasionally watching discs without additional subscriptions. Members had not identified a compact 4K player that would fit.

A member with a 2025 View 24T reported a small Sony Blu-ray player in the corresponding...

We just downsized from our DP class A to a 2026 View 24T yesterday. We thought there was a BluRay player in the unit along with the smart TV and soundbar. We were wrong …. Has anyone found a good small player that will fit in a depth of 7 inches in the cabinet that houses the slide and Murphy bed controls? We would want it to be HD / 4K etc. capable.
Thanks !

Are you looking for one to connect to a TV via HDMI? I’m confused because the TV isn’t on that side of the RV is it?

I just looked and there are small units but they aren’t 4K and there are 4K units but not that thin.

And all I saw were units that have been on the market for a number of years. It seems streaming has mostly taken over the physical disc player market.

On the 24T, the TV sits across from the recliners, above the window . It has a smart TV with a JBL soundbar under it. There seems to be a few “ultra thin” players out there, but like you say - not in a 4K format. We can stream via WiFi or Starlink, but prefer to just watch a DVD now and then rather than having to pay for a bunch of streaming services. Looks like if Winnebago installs a system there is a totally different setup in the cabinet. We’ll keep looking around and thanks for the reply.

Point to consider but I don't know how it might fit? There is a blue ray that is designed differently so that it can be mounted vertical and the disk not slip out!
No idea on how well that idea works or if it fits!

YUP! Pretty much totally different!
Murphy bed in front with large bath in the back and then the TV looks like pretty close to outer wall with table folding in under?

Yes, but he asked about putting the disc player behind the Murphy Bed/Sofa, not behind the TV. The connections for TV accessories usually go behind the TV. Which is why I asked.

Our 2025 View 24T has a Sony Blu-Ray player in the cabinet that is to the right of the TV. The model number is not on the player. It is small, about 8" wide and 2" tall.

Ok, see the difference of thought. I read it as asking about the space behind the Murphy bed controls, not the bed itself? I think I see the controls on the cabinet above and back a bit from the TV, while the slide is actually on the far side from the controls! The TV connections, etc. are near the slide controls but that cabinet is shown as very narrow, front to back.

Given more thought, this may take a mod to place a shelf for the player if that fits in the plan? Maybe some way to hang a shelf on the bottom of the top shelf?
That area with the slide switch is also where several of the TV connections are located which might be good?

No - I was specifically talking about the cabinet, above the large window (passenger side) next to the TV. The TV is solidly mounted to the cabinet, so it cannot be moved.

What I think Winnebago did was to place a step inside the floor of that cabinet and was level with the outermost portion of the cabinet door bend, which is slightly more than an inch more than the base of the cabinet door.

By the way the drawings are divided, with electrical showing only outlines of the cabinets, it is hard to connect the different parts of info!
As you asked, a different size player might be the best solution but that likely has the problem of finding a small one.
Looking for different ways to go, I might also look at where and what might be done to place the player you find or have. Since space is certain to be a major deal, I thought to mention looking for an area where the player might be hung or mounted below the upper cabinet. Maybe not the preferred idea but sometimes we have to settle for second best!
At one point we were searching for a way to mount an item and found placing a shelf made from thick metal on the bottom of a cabinet worked for us. We had friends in the heat and air field who had access to a "metal break" which they used to bend metal for air ducts to fit custom situations. Not sure of the actual name of the gizmo but easy enough for them to bend a small panel we found at the big box store to let us simply screw it to the bottom of a top shelf. Years back and the details are long forgotten but I think we wound up using a metal plate meant as a kick panel for the bottom of doors! Nice, well finished metal about 1/8 thick, it made a nice looking shelf for us to place something like a VCR that would not fit inside the cabinet!

Any space where this might work as an alternate if correct size is not found?

Good idea. If placed under the cabinet, would have to use a hole saw to allow wiring to pass up to 110 vac and HDMI connection.

I'm more of a wood guy but I don't like to paint or stain to finish and the metal gave us a bit better feel for strong than wood with using less space.
Hanging down, would this let you tuck any extra cord up to hide in the upper cabinet?
Not actually seeing leaves me room for lots of ideas that may not mean much!!! :scratchhead:
Maybe a hole saw of the right size and use a grommet for wire runs to make it look like it was planned?

Per photos of View 24T's on RV Trader, the 2025 and 2026 models have the same cabinet. Except the 2025 has an extra shelf and DVD player. Just purchase the Blu-Ray player that came with the 2025 model and set it on your 2026 model shelf.

Good news!
You may be just the guy needed to get right to the point of what player to add! Since the parts listings don't show one as an option, it will be a great big help to show how yours sets and what brand and model of player you have?
I looked around the sales posts but never found one that shows inside the cabinets near the TV, so no help on spotting what they have done.
I'm sure OP would love an easier way to go! All I can find shows the two years both have the same cabinets but never show any type player??
Can you show us what you have there?

Looking for small size, front to back, AI comes back with this info for a "compact" player:
Sony BDP-S1700U
But it looks like 71/4 inch and then plugs, etc. on the back to make it need more space. Any chance this is any better than what you have found?
Looking closer at what the OEM plan and seeing no options they provide, I'm not seeing the location of connections inside the cabinet as being a good plan? But there may be a smaller player somewhere that I have not found!
The devil can often be found hiding in the details!!

Playing/trying tto learn how to better use the new parts catalg, I came across a different thought you may want to check for sanity!
We have this panel which shows the variuos switch/controls mounted inside the upper cabinet .
acab1.jpg

Seems to be lot of space not used in front of the controls and we likely don't want to fill that, but I thought about the space where those controls, etc. have to have space behind the panel?
acab2.jpg

What we see is the panel is set out from the side wall to allow space for the back end of controls, etc. that are mounted in the upper section of that panel. The yellow highlighted area is listed as "frame" an dlikely needed to make the panel stronger.
But it also shows the frame and panel do not set directly on the outer wall but leave a few inches of empty space.
Would pulling one of those switches or controls to probe how much and what is back there, possibly tell you that a player could be set into that space if the frame and panel were notched to fit the back of the player into the empty space under the controls?

Sorry! My empty mind wants to stay busy while waiting for guys who are lost, running around out in a field out in West Texas! I get pictures of what they want to work on but not WHERE to find it the hut!

Log-Wo, can you tell me the name of the/ model of the player you have in your 24t? Be great if you can also upload a photo of how it is installed. Does it sit on some type of raised platform or sit flush on bottom of the cabinet, as that depth is only a bit over 7inches.
Thx!
