Does anyone have suggestions for OEM replacement Side Cameras, or a new replacement option with better night quality video that works with the Pioneer radio?

My left side camera was damaged, it may be repairable with the wiring, but I would be be curious to learn if something better exist where I may replace both side mirrors? If not I could just buy one new Left Side.

I think the part I have now is Furrion Left CMOS Side RV Camera - FCL48TDBK-BL but I can't confirm. I am not really looking to replace the entire radio, but all new cameras may be an option if the quality is substantially improved.

You may want to reach out to this group: https://www.rvcams.com/

The owner is VERY knowledgeable. I’ve worked with him a couple times, knows his stuff and even if it doesn’t lead to a sale will still be quick to help you out. (I have a camera that’s built in my side mirror, was hoping there was a way to open the mirror and replace and he was quick to get back to me saying they have tried several times and it doesn’t end well, better to just buy new mirror/camera from the manufacturer.)

Others may have some replacement ideas as well, good luck!

Good morning Blastvalve,
That is so interesting that you would need to replace the entire mirror/camera as an assembly. My side cameras get a little fuzzy sometimes, but I could never see how to easily replace just the cameras. Considering that the mirrors are both power-adjusting and heated and work very well as mirrors, I think I will just live with the camera fuzziness.
Thanks, Eagle5

Morning Eagle5! On ours, the camera is completely shot, black screen when you turn the signal on. It died somewhere on our trip to FL last summer (along with the parking brake assembly but that’s a whole seperate post). I’ve played with all the wiring and confirmed it’s that camera. I swapped a few messages with RV cams as I was hoping it was possible to open the mirror case to get at the camera and they confirmed it usually doesn’t end well and to just buy the whole assembly from Velvac. It’s on the list for this spring when the snow finally leaves and we get days above zero again! (It’s been a COLD winter here even by Vermont standards)

Thanks, I did try calling but no success. I could have left voicemails but with work, I would never be available. I suspect my plight may be a tad different and it would have required more context for best option for me as I was not looking to replace the entire system

I found out from Lipper that the Vision S + is the most modern system but it requires full replacement and non backwards compatible. For those interested here is info Furrion Backup Cameras | Lippert

However Lippert was surprise to see or learn that my current Furron cameras work with my OEM Switcher & OEM Radio ( Pioneer). They sold me a the older part that they have but it sounds like it is newer. At the price I ordered and I will found out. I verified that it direct replacement fitting wise and with the existing wiring. It may be a week or so before I get the camera.

Maybe one day I will look at an all new system, but I am not fan of proprietary nor having to put yet another dedicated device on my dashboard.

With that said it is possible that what I just ordered will not work with Pioneer. If so I will trash and by some China made crap or anything from anywhere that will show good quality video work with my existing system. In fact if the night time quality is good enough, I would replace both side camera. Rear camera could be better, but it has never been a problem.
