Awning Motion Sensor Sensitivity on a 2026 Navion 24R

We have been having extreme winds here in the South-West in the afternoons. When we were camping recently, I had the awning extended, when a strong gust came up. I thought my awning will get trashed. I had the "Motion Sensor" activated with the sensor sensitivity at "most sensitive" (see picture). However, the awning did not retract!
The next morning I extended the awning and grabbed the rear corner of the awning where the sensor is mounted and shook it vigorously. But the awning remained extended. Only when I was beating directly on the sensor did the awning pull back

Is there a way to increase the sensor's sensitivity or ???????

Don’t trust the sensor to be a fail safe protection for your awning. It can be too slow to act in a sudden guest of wind. It’s simply a motion sensor and reacts mostly with up and down vertical motions.

But again, don’t trust it, just think of it as a backup.

Thanks Paul. I agree with you that the sensor can't protect the awning from a sudden burst of high winds. Still, I was hoping that the sensitivity adjustment would allow this G-force sensor to become almost too agile.
Thanks also for the hint about the facebook Group. I guess I finally have to subscribe for a facebook account. I never had one for professional reasons. But I think it will be OK now that I am retired . Is there a dedicated '26 Winnebago-R group?

Is there a dedicated '26 Winnebago-R group?

The link I gave you is for 2025, 2026 and 2027 T, R and D models only. There are two other View Navion Groups that are pretty good too. They are much larger and have more traffic. But they cover all years and when you post something specific about your 2026R you get a lot of responses that don't apply to our models. I still inhabit all three of those groups.

For instance, someone on the main V/N FB Group posted that they had a 2025R and was having problems running the A/C on the inverter. So, they got a dozen responses that you can't run your A/C on inverter. They just didn't know that we could do that with our RVs.

So, I post 2026R specific stuff on the “Winnebago Connect Equipped View/Navions.” Group.
