Sorry about the placement of the pictures. I am fairly new at this and couldn't figure out how to move them.

While we like the floor plan and layout of our 2023 Micro Minnie 2108TB, we found the few electrical outlets to be poorly placed and decided to do something about it with Wiremold and 14-2 Romex. The first thing was two receptacles by the kitchen table. The top of the receptacles are flush with the table top when it is in the up position. The wire was then run to a flanged outlet and will be connected to the receptacle near the floor below the television with a short 14 gauge extension cord. The second was the receptacle over the bed was above the shelf and just inconvenient to use, so I added one below the shelf. I needed a new surface mount box as the trailer receptacle was not usable. There was space for the romex behind the wall so no raceway was needed. Don't go too much lower as there is a piece of wood running horizontally just below where I placed mine. The third was to add a surface mount receptacle over the the range so we do not need to run an extension cord across the back of the sink if we want to use a slow cooker or an electric skillet. Since the microwave was plugged in in the overhead cabinet it was fairly easy to fish a wire up the left side from the bottom and use plug it in. For some reason the program said the file type was invalid for the third one and I used the same device to take all pictures. Go figure.

Hi Explorer314,
I am a very new member who made a post regarding pantry mods on a 2025 model of the same RV. I appreciate your suggestions to gain more electrical outlets. I will likely do the same things or close to it. Thank you,
Bruce

Hi again,
For the receptacles above the bed, did you tap into s receptacle on one side or the other of the bed? how did you get through the horizontal pice of wood?
Bruce

The receptacle above the shelf was already there. I went below the shelf, cut an opening and fished a wire down the wall. I went down about 5.5" and discovered there a horizontal wooden framing piece about 6" down. So don't go too far down for that receptacle. Because of the way factory receptacles are wired, I replaced the original with a standard household receptacle. I did have to put in a small wooden backer behind the wall on each end to fasten the wiremold cover to. The depth was too shallow for any old work box I had. Hope this helps.

Thank you, Explorer314. I plan do do your dinette and range hood mods. My Micro Minnie, however, is the 2025 2108FBS. It did not have the 120v outlet above the shelf over the bed. Rather, it has a 120v outlet on either side at the head end of the bed. They were installed a bit low for the mattress topper I bought. I may be able to get better use of them by adding a couple short power strips with very flat male plugs on the end where they plug in.

Thank you again. I plan to do your other electrical mods.
Bruce

I looked at your layout and see what your issue is. Another possibility, Wiremold has two different depth surface mounts. How about replacing the current receptacles with the shallow one to use as a junction box with blank cover, then use a raceway to whatever height seems right and use the deeper box for the receptacle? I used the fiberglass raceway which worked well since you can attach the base, run the wire (no need to strip) and then clip the outer piece on. Actually, mounting the receptacles on the horizontal wood strip would give you a nice solid base.

I'll save that suggestion foot possible future use. I found a couple 4' power strips with flat input plugs. They also have two sizes of USB outlets. I figure i can mount the outputs on our next to the exterior wall on either side and tuck the cords under the mattress. I think they'll work nicely
Thank foot the suggestion.

That should work well and is definitely quicker. I looked at your pantry mods. Great idea! Looks like I will be making a trip to Lowes. While you are at it, you may want to add some towel bars. I have added five.

A couple questions: when you added the raceway, did you tack them in or just use the doublesided tape that comes with them? Also, did you find the wood frame to mount the outlets on in slide-out?

Bruce pointed me to this post - nice clean job and I'm going to use it as the example of how to make mine better. I like the idea of having the outlets above the table.

Mine consists of a hole, a 6-foot power strip with one end that gets plugged up to the outlet at the backend of the pantry with the other end of the power strip taped and zip-tied to just under the seat.

I forgot to take a picture of how the cord runs under the bend but essentially it's zip-tied along the support bracket so it won't dangle and get caught on anything I store under there.

Bruce: I simply screwed the raceway and the boxes directly (snug, trying not to make it too tight) to the sidewall. I was a bit dubious and the few times we have used the receptacles they seem to be holding well. Should they work lose, I will probably try drywall anchors. I did not find any wood framing to use as an anchor.

EXW: In the picture I submitted, the table is in the down (sleep) position. I made the top of the receptacles flush with the table in the up position. I would have preferred higher, but I was afraid if I did, it would interfere with the window blind. We have only used them a few times, but I am pleased with the way it turned out.

Thank you for the fuller discussion. It took me awhile to come back as I've been working on getting a Ubiquity NanoStation M2 web access antenna going again. It has an http:// address and Windows 11/Edge won't let me access it. I had to go back to an older version of Firefox to get in. I think I'll have it going today, though. Once I get that going, I'll add the receptacles.

I appreciate your post, Explorer314. I did the dinette electrical and the one under the overhead cabinets in the kitchen. They came out Super!! Thank you!

Not any ideas for the main subject but a hint on how to place pictures if still needed?
When you have them attached to post and before hitting to actually add them, get the curser to the point where you want them!
That should let you place them before in the middle or after any info you've added!
You can add several all at the same time and then when ready, go back, place curser where you want and add the pic there. Does not have to be does at same time as adding them to post where they land at the bottom.
