Adding Gate Valves and Using Black Tank Flush on Minnie 2500RL

My old camper had gate valves on both the grey & black tanks which made dumping the grey easy since it usually filled up faster. I didn't realize this one was different when I bought it (used, but new to me, I must have had on my rose colored glasses, LOL) until I went to dump my tanks after flushing from de-winterizing.

I bought a gate valve that fits on the end, but I have to take it off when travelling as it sticks out a bit. I'm not a fan.
Has anyone added gate valves to be able to dump the tanks separately or why not?

Also, I haven't used the black tank flush "yet" because I have no idea what the "fullway termination valve" is or how to open or close it. (see caution label). Please help educate ignorant me.

Campers sure have changed since our last one. I had to go buy an electric cord for this one also. Seems like you pay more and get less.... like everything else.

But I do like it. Always wanted a Winnebago and finally got one!

The Fullway Termination Valve is the black tank drain valve, operated by the T-handle you pull to drain the black tank.

Be warned that that little strap hanger that supports the drain pipe is a common failure point, leaving the pipe hanging unsupported. Adding another gate valve adds additional stress. Mine has snapped twice. I have some wire providing temporary support.

I added a Valterra 3" gate valve to my 2401RG and it is still a couple inches inside the plane of the sidewall.

I understand about additional stress, and my concern is, we tend to fill up the gray tank a lot faster than the black. Because of the one gate valve, I have to dump both at the same time. Is the answer to use a ton more water for the black tank because I don’t want to build up a bunch of solids and it does take a little bit of time for the enzymes to liquefy everything.

One gate valve? There should definitely be separate gate valves for each gray/black tank. My 2401, which is very similar to your 2500, has a separate gate valve for the kitchen gray tank, bath gray tank and black tank. I can dump each tank individually, though I always dump them all. I only added the Valterra gate valve because the factory valves leaked by a bit, resulting in me getting splashed a little when I removed the cap .

Right, that’s what I thought. Each waste pipe should have its own gate., but no. Not on this particular. TT. I guess I’ll have to go look up all my specs which Winnebago very kindly emailed me., to see what I can install and where so that the two tanks can be dumped individually. Ugh
