I was driving the other day in high cross winds (30mph gusts) causing the motorhome to sway a lot. After about 3 hours of driving the adaptive cruise shut off and wouldn’t reset until I shut off the bus. Does anyone know if this is an issue with the FORD part or is it designed that way because if 3 hours of swaying?

Long standing issue, with many ideas for a solution, some claim there is a software update. For me I upgraded sway bars, steering stabilizer, suspension airbags to better control RV in wind. Just got back from a 5300-mile trip adaptive only turning off twice in 40mph cross winds with steering wheel at 45°, several warnings to pull over for a cup coffee. I just don't think the technology was designed for large square boxes traveling 70mph in 40mph winds.

I plan on upgrading to a steering stabilizer hoping that cuts some of the back and forth (my watch registered about 5,000 steps from the drive). I guess I’ll schedule with ford to check the software on it. I agree that they didn’t plan for a 36x12x8 rectangle at highway speeds.

If you decide to check on a software update with Ford, let me know what they say. When I had some routine service done last year, they told me I have the most recent software and there was no way to manually adjust the sensitivity of the adaptive radar.

I finally got it into Ford and they said the controls on the steering wheel are bad. They are in the process of replacing them now. I’ll let y’all know if that fixes it.
