A couple of interesting observations for 2006 Winnies

Richard - nobody 'bugged' me while I was wondering around. I even looked in the luxury showcase some - had a ball taking pictures in a 45' Country Coach ($600,000!) Did not find one coach that was locked.

Not only did they not bother me, I had more than one person running around in a golf cart ask me if I wanted a ride somewhere. Had a lady in the used coach section ask me if I wanted water or fresh coffee.

It is really an amazing place!

BTW - the coach passed the rain-bay test! We are now looking forward to the next hard rain for the real test.

Talking about the door screen I removed the screen on the top and had a framed screen made to the same dim then put weather strip on the back and 4 clips to hold it in and we can now remove it when traveling for better visibilty.

I have been looking into the screen door on the Vectra. Hoping it could be made to fit a Journey. Will be taking some mesurements today. The price of the screen door is..... $600.00 I was shocked when i was told the price. Plus shipping. All I want is the inside parts and retrofit our door. Im going to keep trying.

I did the same as Hogbreth. Took the screen out of the top of the door..measured inside the screen door frame..27 1/4" x 31 1/4" on my 02 Horizon 39QD...Went to the local glass company and had a screen made up with a 3/8' frame with a small strip of weatherstrip and picked out the swival clips I wanted to hold it, all for for a whopping $35.00.
We just put it behind the couch when traveling.
It looks great when installed..Wife is happy and wallet is happier.

You could also have tinted plexiglass cut to fit for top and bottom. You could then leave the main door open with AC and heat on.

I did just what Tom N suggested except I used clear plexiglass I purchased at Lowes. Used silicone caulk to hold it in place and 11 months later it still performs perfectly. This action was necessary to keep the DW happy as she really didn't want to give up her beloved Adventurer 35U for "my" new Diesel. So, her list of complaints on the new diesel have been variously attacked by me. The screen door with poor visibility was the first item fixed, she loves the new plexiglass. She also complained about not being able to see back down the passenger side of the MH so I fabricated a side mirrow just for her. It fits between the front door and her side window, all is happy and well now.

My DW had her own "ideas" of what she wanted,or more so "didn't want" but it still got me a new buggy.

Ten weeks this week and that rascal hasn't hit the dealer yet!!

I did the same for the screen door, went to Home Depot and bought a screen kit, works great. Lucky13, I wonder if your wife is talking to mine? She said the same about not being able to see down the side of the rig. Can you post a pix of your install and more details?

You can place one of the small convex stick on mirrors to your passenger side mirror and she'll be able to see.

I will post some details and pictures soon of the side DW mirror. Cost of parts probably about $25.
Tom N's solution would be easier except the front windshield side post is in the way and blocks her view.

Photos of mirror now upoaded under "Photos/Other/Modifications & Repairs." The 6"x8" mirror came from Pep Boys, 3/4" sq. alum. stock bar, one 4"x4" T-Plate (picture shows how it is bent), "L" bracket for support, three SS screws attaching T-Plate to MH, pop-rivets, and hole plugs.
