I’ve been dragging my feet on installing 2x 200w of solar on our roof. We have a 110w soft folding portable, but our current battery/solar setup is just not enough to feed our hungry compressor fridge for more than 3 days. I hate running our generator. Looking for a solution to boondock with no generator for consecutive days limited only by our waste tanks.
From what I’ve been reading the new generation 9BB (bus bar) panels are up to 25% more efficient, but I think that is being measured over a typical day’s sunlight. I think I understand that they work better in low light than traditional 5BB panels, thereby producing more amps/day, and being more favorable for serial installation. I’d really appreciate comments from those who have installed 9BB. Are they worth the extra expense, or is it all just marketing hype?
