Having trouble with my matrix. Video signal not reaching tv from matrix. Bypassed the matrix and tv dish works fine. My question is the IR system though the coach separate from the matrix? I also order a new power supply.

The IR system is totally separate of the video/audio parts of the system. I never once used the IR functions and all worked well… as long as it worked.

We found the biggest culprit was the individual receivers at each TV. Over the years I used the system I replaced all three receivers (network balun devices), one of them more than once. I bought them from Pace Electronics for $50 each.

The Matrix power supply is a leading cause of issues as you’ve found out. But in my case that never caused my problems. I bought one from Pace and when it didn’t help they took it back. They even sent me a new Matrix box to test out but when that didn’t help they let me return that, as well.

Another common weak link is the HDMI cable from the receiver to the TV. So don’t be afraid to try a new HDMI cable.

After 4 or so years of struggle I kept the system in place but stopped using it. We were streaming all of our TV so I put a Roku device on each TV and stopped messing with the clunky Matrix system.

PS. Never buy these parts from Winnebago, they will overcharge you terribly. For instance the new Matrix box was over $700 from Winnebago but only $250 from Pace.

Not used that system and that always adds doubt but my thought is that the IR will be more like a control and the real signaling for the TV is on the HDMI.
Some what like when you turn on a light switch? You are acting like the IR to turn on the power which is acting as the signal you want to change?
I suspect it may be one of two different problems when it fails.
The failure may be the IR never passes the info to change the switch, much like if you don't flip a switch.
OR that part may work but the signal you are wanting to change is not working.
You flipped the switch but the light still did not come on?

The problem with sorting the question is often a matter of us with just a simple multimeter can't test well enough to see that audio/video signal did change. The equipment may have some form of light/ LED that indicates the change was made but that may only be changing the signal light and not the real path we want changed.

If needed - you may have a spare set of cables already in place on your coach. Look behind matrix box and TVs - cable ends marked with matching number of tape 'rings.'

I was going to mention that. On my Adventurer there was an extra unused Ethernet cable run to each TV location. When I had issues, and when didn’t I have issues with this system, I also tried using the spare Ethernet cable. But it never helped, for me it was either the HDMI cable to the TV or the receiver at that location.

I had issues with my matrix. It wouldn't send a signal to the TVs. I call the company and talk to a technician who told me they no longer make the matrix that I have in my coach. They sell another matrix but it's difficult to install. He had a used matrix that he bench tested and sold to me for $100. He said the issue with the old matrix is that if it is in an enclosed area it gets hot which causes the issues was having. He suggested that I vent the cabinet with some pancake fans which I purchased online and installed at the top of the cabinet. It has continued to work for a few years since I installed the two fans. It still has some issues like the lights don't all light up to indicate where the signal is going.

If you get into tracing coax, there is "some" help in the wiring and drawings as they place markers on some of them as an ID. But there are two problems with that info and getting to it. One is that there are two different build dates of your RV, so that leaves doubt on which drawings to go to for a look.
The basic wiring drawings for your RV are here, but I will let you sort it down to which serial number you have!
Once on the correct RV, go to the electrical and then find TV info. There will be general drawings of common layouts and then for the physical location of things, the "installation" drawings may help somewhat?

But there is where a second problem may come in a each owner may have done changes tot he rV if you are not the first owner. Those changes can really mess with any OEM info we get.
They put tape markers on then built but thing may get changed and the ID tape not changed!!

Look at the tape but not to bet the farm on it being correct if things have been added or changed!
