2108 FBS Slideout Drawer Installation

I have install a drawer under the dinette seat. Well not completely installed. I need to adjust the length of the plywood board the slides are attached too. I made a drawer 30” deep and attach Blum undermount soft close slides. I need to move the drawer back about an eight of a inch to allow me to install a locking device to insure drawer does not open when traveling. Also, I need to permanently attach the plywood board to the slideout floor.

Looking nice! Are you going to put a standard hinge door over the opening, or attach the door to the drawer face so the whole thing pulls straight out? I've been debating which way I want mine.

Okay ,you see the existing door. I plan to put a barrel bolt latch so it will lock into door frame support. Also, I am going to try and find a drawer pull that hangs down when not being used so it will not interfere with closing the door.

I wonder if you really need a pull on that drawer. It'll be quite easy to grab it as-is, and I somehow bet that's what you'll be doing even if you do install one. Though you might find one that looks nice and decorative, I suppose.

You are probably right. It’s not like a cabinet drawer. I can pull the drawer out by simply pulling from the top opening. I am not looking for anything decorative on this. Just want a drawer I can pull out and retrieve something in the back without have to go in from the top.

Drawer Lock

I completed my drawer installation today. I had planned on putting a locking device on the front of the drawer. However, I changed my mind and put one on the back of the drawer. I don’t think this will be a problem as the drawer only need to be locked when traveling. I used a spring loaded hook and eye. The spring locking device will ensure it does not come unlocked if I hit a bump.

The drawer slides I used are Blum 30” undermount soft close. I order them from “cabinetparts.com”. Manufactures part number is 569.760B. I used 1/2” material for the drawer. If you use 3/4” material for your drawer you need to use a different slide. I believe the part number for it is 569A.7620B.
