Hi, I am hoping someone has a bit more information thn I can find anywhere.
I am picking up my first RV in almost 40 years. I am purchasing it in Florida and I am in New Hampshire. I think a few things have changed since I last had one. I want to install a Starlink mini on the roof for the trip back north. I am aware an existing chase wil make this a fairly easy upgrade. I believe there is a 12 volt supply already on the roof however supplying the power from below may actually be a better option as i would only deal with a single cable on the roof.
Does anyone know if there is a 12 volt supply point in the cabinet behind the TV. I believe there is but I can't find what type of connection it is so I am not sure what type of adapter to by for the Starlink Mini.

Thanks for any help or advice

We currently have a great interactive parts catalog that lets us almost "look through walls" :
Go to 12Volt section for this? There are two options on your RV, but it doesn't seem to involve this group? Both look the same on quick look!
For general location this is looking through from the driver's side to the passenger side next to entry door or above stove and sink area? Wiring is in red circled space.

Details of that group: which faces toward rear:

Rear view: of same:

If not up on the antenna power, there is often a coax fitting and switch that has a small button to turn antenna amp on/off when there is a rooftop ant built in!
No info handy for specs on any of the power current limits or fusing?
But as an alternate thought if it fits your planning, there appears to be a number of 110Acoutlets nearby if a wall wart power supply might be needed?
Go to 110AC view if wanting to look at those exact locations but look near enought that I might expect to reach them as I think one behind where TV and microwave might be? Also one facing down out of these cabinets?

Sometimes those grey outlines are hard to follow until I see one in person!
See if that get you going!

Thank you for the quick reply. Hopefully that is a cigarette style connector. I was looking for 22 volts rather than 120 so when travelling I had wifi with minimal draw. Running through the inverter increases draw etc.
I may be better off not trying to rush a solution and get my eyes on it before purchasing anything. The Stsrlink comes with the 120 plug so for the run back north ill stick with that.
Ill look into the drawings

Thanks again

The Starlink Mini in our coach is simply sitting on the over-cab bunk and the power wire routed to the included AC adapter plugged in under the dinette seat. The signal coming through our fiberglass roof is strong enough to provide streaming while parked and browsing during travel. I don't plan on mounting it outside if it is going to perform well simply laying on the bunk.

You might want to try to see what you can get by with if you have a non-metallic roof.

I guess I was confused when they asked about 12Volt supply. Not sure how to get the 22 volt if not using some form of power supply and breaking it down from AC to DC but the 22 volts is a strange one to me.

Hi
It is 12 volts.
I just fat fingered it.

I looked at the drawings you pointed me to and it looks like a typical cigarette style. Those drawings are great. They will be invaluable going forward.
For the trip from FL to NH I am going to try putting in the overhead bunk as a quick solution. I have also read where some just put it on the dash.

Thank you both for the guidance. Hopefully down the road I will be able to contribute to the group.

A word of caution, the cigarette lighter socket failed to support my GEN 3 and I had to run a dedicated 12 volt run to my Starlink. I believe the mini draws less, I’d set it up and confirmed it works. .

Thanks for the heads up. I believe the mini draws about 1/3 less than the gen 3 the mini is about 40 watts and gen 3 65 watts. Ill test it first a week or so before committing to anything permanent

Thanks to all for helping.

The 110 drawings show several AC outlets in and near that cabinet where the cig outlet is, if that and a wal-wart charger migh be a plan?
It irritates the heck out of me that they are drawing back on the amount of good indepth info we are getting on the drawings. One of my complaints is that we no longer get full schematics for the 12VDC. That means no practical way to trace that circuit for the cigar lighter outlet back and see what type fuse/power it can do!
Kind of a bummer to look at just trying until you find out what it takes to blow a fuse???
Double bummer if we are on a trip and no drawing to even show WHERE to look for that blown fuse!
But I very much doubt it will be anywhere close to 40 amps!! Beware!

its 40 watts which is about 3.3 amps so probably be okay. I can always plug something in and pull fuses to determine circuit/ fuse size.
being a newbie i cant comment on what drawings were like but removing detail is never a good sign. It typically happens when companies are trying to push the consumer to there own
" certified" techs. I hope that isn't the case as it will make the process of owning and maintaining the complex systems much more difficult.
Im counting down the days as I fly to FL Tuesday to pick up the rig.
It will be a bit of trial and error but I have recieved some great insight so I have a game plan that should work
Thanks for the follow up.

ARRGH!
Got to go back and practice reading!
The 40 watts sounds much easier to handle. I was thinking kind of scary for automotive wiring and 40 amps!
You sound like you might be ready to open the CHRSTMAS presents! Enjoy!

Go to Starlink.com there is a car adapter for the mini

Quick update for any thinking of getting a Starlink Mini.
In the navion 24d there is a 120 plug in the area over the cab. As the roof is fiberglass as mentioned earlier the mini receives a signal through the fiberglass roof. The reception is sufficient to stream video as we travel at highway speeds. I have changed my approach and will likely not mount the unit on the roof at all. I do see a very small amount of buffering but it is infrequent and short-lived. Certainly not enough to warrant roof mounting.

Thank again for the help
