2023 View 24D Entry Steps Not Getting Power

I have a 2023 View 24D. The steps stopped working. I replaced the motor, still not working. It seems like the steps are not getting any power. The troubleshooting says to check the fuse, but I can't find any. Does anyone have any suggestions?

We are getting into a bad situation for DIY repairs as online info is being cut back to leave us guessing more than actually knowing. In this case, we get no drawings that I find to even give us locations of any fuses involved. One thought it to check a group of breakers or fuses on the lower outside of the passenger seat. They may be labeled there but no long labeled on the drawings. Another thought to check is the door switch as that little magnetic switch is in a place where it can get a lot of hard knocks and get knocked out of place or broken.
If nothing good happens there, it may be time to look for online manuals for the kwikee steps and sort which model to find where they put fuses.

Just a thought by my vista 27pe has three control technically one the power to the motors under the stairs

2 switch by the door with 2 functions one is off with a lockout tab another steps stay out then on which the lockout has to be released

3 an auto feature tied to the ignition steps retracts even if in the off lockout position safety 1st if you forget to turn on

So that’s at least two power sources and 2 switches

The other possibility is when you installed the motor it did not engage the gears into the step driver pendulums

Be careful as you could lose a finger, if the safety is released guess that’s a 4 th possibility bad ground and safety or door swich on the steps

You need a good multimeter to check if power and grounds to the motor then work backwards

I have a 2023 Vista 29V and had this same issue recently. (1) Check the under compartment on left side behind driver for circuit breakers panel. Mine does NOT have an inline fuse as all the docs state either, but three of the circuit breakers were for the steps. The attached AI response helped me find my issue so it may help you here, also a shot of the breakers panel involved. My #6 breaker was not "out" like all the others, so HARD-pressed the button until it clicked (a very quiet click) resetting the breaker. Steps did not immediately start working until I started the engine and they finally came out. (I was almost at the point of replacing the control module to try fixing it before finding the breakers panel) Hope this helps, as WBG does not!!

Under the right side of Passenger seat are a set of Breakers, behind the 'skirt' covering them.. One of them is for the steps and assumedly has popped. (Yeah it took me a day to find it.)

Thanks, I found the breakers under the passenger seat. I don't think any of them were popped, but tried to reset them. The steps still weren't working. I wired the motor directly to a 12v battery, and it turned. Reinstalled everything, now the steps working intermittent when I open and close the door! Still a work in progress!! Thanks for all of the help!!

Lubricate the joints of the stairs. Just got mine working today, and that was a contributing factor. I actually built a 'breakout box' for the step controller, as I've replaced it a couple times and with so many inputs (door switch, Ign switch, 'switch for leave door open', etc, it's hard to tell what the real issue is.

I suspect the reed door switch is corroded and losing contact. When the black (or white) cover is removed (stationary part on the stepwell wall) you should see 2 wires, which come from the controller. Those connections are not waterproof, they will corrode and the retaining screws will also loosen.
Also, if the 2 parts do not come together when the screen door is closed the magnetic reed switch will not operate.
It's all in the service manual.
