Members shared their experiences locating the fresh water tank drain and identifying safe jacking points on the 2022 Minnie 2529RG, noting that the owner's manual and dealer support were insufficient. The consensus is that the fresh water tank drain valve is on the door side of the rig, forward of the bedroom door, with a pull handle similar to the black and gray tank valves. Some noted that the location may differ slightly by model year, but for 2022, it is easily accessible once...

We bought a 2022 Minnie 2529RG last week, and so far are happy with it but are having quite a bit if trouble trying to find a few things. The owner's manual is generic and covers all of Winnebago's towables, so the information is confusing at best and flat out wrong in many cases. Neither the dealer nor Google have been much help. Winnebago sent me a stack of documents and they helped immensely but not for these.

Where is the fresh water tank drain valve? The user manual is silent or wrong and Google says things like "It could be here, or it could be there, or try looking over here...", all of which failed to expose it.

I did manage to find the low point drains for the hot and cold water lines, but nothing for the fresh water tank. I assume I need to drain the fresh water tank when winterizing.

The other thing I can't find is the approved lift points for jacking it up to change a tire. The manual says to use the point on the frame that's nearest to the tire, but there is a rubber hose or wire cable of some kind running along the bottom of the frame that can't be moved and will get crushed if I try to lift it there.

I've been cautioned against lifting it by the axle but does that include where the axle is U-bolted to the spring? Can I lift it there? If not there then I have no idea where is the safe jacking point.

I'm hoping that one of you who preferably has a 2529RG and knows for a fact where these things are located would please chime in.

Thanks...

The fresh water drain valve is on the "door" side of the rig, forward of the bedroom door. If you get down low and look up, you will see it. Same type handle as the black and gray tank drain handles.

I have raised mine several times by placing the jack under the shackle that mounts the suspension to the axle. This allows me to spin the wheels while adding grease. I have not used it yet, but I recently purchased an "axle buddy" to give me a more secure lifting point should I be away from home and in less than level circumstances.

PM me if further questions. Thx!

epnh, the fresh water tank drain on our 2021 2529RG is located underneath between the door leading to the kitchen and the rear axle, towards the center of the camper. It is in a very awkward spot. A white (on our Minnie) plastic valve.
As far as jacking to replace a flat tire, I use a Trailer Aid. That way I don’t have a need to carry a jack with me.

Thanks, Bob. They must have changed it for 2022. On mine it's as IOS 3 described, a pull handle forward of the bedroom steps and to the side of the frame. Easy to see and access now that I know where to look.

Thanks, DAT, found it.

What is an axle buddy? I googled it and only got information on wheel bearing buddies to keep the wheel bearings greased.

Thanks, DAT. That looks like something you would use to jack it by the axle. I've been STRONGLY cautioned against doing that, including by the RV's manufacturer Winnebago.

Hi epnh - The cautions against jacking it by the axle are warranted if you use a jack that isolates the lifting point to a small area of the axle. Both a bottle jack or a floor jack could do that... The reason I like this device is because it copies the shackle that is already on your axle to hold the suspension to the axle. I'm comfortable that this is safe to use and protective of the risks that you have read about. Do what works best for you! Cheers!

Isn't a Jack Buddy just an appendage you put on your jack that is shaped to hold an axle? How do you use it without a jack?
