Afternoon Folks.
While cleaning my 2022 1708FB I found the upper rear 3/4-in marker lights gromets were completely dry rotted. One of the lights pushed back into the wall hole. Does anyone know how to access these?
Thanks!

You got it! This is what I replaced all mine with. It's a pain in the tail and you may recite a few 4-letter words, but the marker lights will come out through the original hole. I did find that if the light pushed into the wall cavity you'll need to take an exacto-knife razor and cut the old gromet off the light before you try to pull it back through and out. Once I figured the first one out (that was pushed back in), the rest were a piece of cake.
Given the dry rot and that the rubber is likely from China, I plan on putting these on my annual inspection list.

Carefully take a small screw driver or 90-degree scribe (dental pic) and work your way between the grommet and the fiberglass skin. Rotate the tool around the grommet's circumference. Its not to difficult, just take your time and it'll come clear of the hole. Be very careful as the wires for the light are out of the rear of the light. You dont wat to snag or pull too hard on those.

Thank you for the help and advise! What is the best sealant, in your opinion to reseal the light into the hole?

Ive tried many sealants on a gel coat skin and found 3M Marine Adhesive Sealant Fast Cure 5200 works awesome. Where other sealants start to lift at the edges in a year or so, this stuff stays put and remains flexible.
