A new Travato owner preparing for a first trip with friends asked for a setup and departure “cheat sheet,” supplementing a recorded walkthrough and a checklist already in progress. Members suggested reading and bookmarking the owner’s manual, developing a Travato-specific checklist, and practicing setup and departure in the driveway. Multiple members emphasized sanitizing the fresh-water tank, and one recommended the Travato Owners and Wannabe Facebook group for model-specific...

Been camping most of my life and decided I wanted to upgrade. Will be talking my 1st trip with friends in a few weeks. Does any one have a "cheat sheet" for setting up and shutting down for leaving?
I took a video during my walk through and I am working on my list of things to do before, during, and after but I'm a little nervous. Any advice or help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Best advise I have ever received is one that will sound totally snippy! But I have changed RV a number of times and most were before internet, so the idea was more difficult in many cases! We did not have the option to look up an owner's manual! If we did not get the book in the trade, we had to guess and it often led to mistakes!
But now that we can almost always get that precious little book, online if necessary, my best advise is to open the book and read and bookmark as many of the small points as you find not something you knew!
If most folks are trully honest, they will admit that they have forgotten a few small details over the years, even if they have had the same RV for ages!
Your worst enemy for a nice trip is a guy who feels he knows it all and won't forget any of the small points!
Just getting the fresh water holding tank sanitized and flushed correctly can really make a difference in how your stomach feels after the trip-----if you get what I mean!
Manuals here, in case they shorted you on that ?

Greetings PLF1025,
I made checklists for The Eagle5 which helped me remember things:
Draft out your own Travato specific list to fine-tune it to your situation.
Perhaps you could try a dry run in your driveway; just walking through the process.
I would also add Richard's suggestion to sanitize your fresh water tank. Here is how I do it:
While Winnebago recommends every six months, I am now sanitizing every three months; just to be on the safe side.
Welcome to the forum.

Pay $20 a month for AI. Has fixed or remedied every issue I've had with the 21' Adventurer 36Z. From tanks, to tripped inverter breakers, to understanding the 3 power source systems....shore power, inverter, generator, framing drawings, plumbing. AI is like your manual only instead of searching for things, it gives the answer in 15 seconds.

Actually I find AI is still a bit of a mystery!
There are several cases where I did not want to do a deep dive to get the detais on questins we hae had here on the forummand wentto AI to ask!
The shocking thing I found was that the system came back using the discussion we were having as the answer!
A bit disappointing to find myself quoted as a part of the justification of some of the theories I had proposed earlier in the discussion! I certainly had not expected to find what I had said come back to me as backing up my guesses!
But maybe I did not get the "high dollar" answers as the AI I used was Copilot that comes free on my desktop PC?
