just had my neighbor disconnect the battery. I'm about an hour from my camper. we go on the weekends.

I'm thinking the GOPOWER is over charging the battery... I'm gunna do a hard reset on it and not hook it up to the battery right away... reset the slide controller.... see if I dont get an error code with the solar charger not hooked up... then re hook up the solar charger. I know the voltage output to the lithium battery is at 14.4 or supposed to be...

when I changed out the batteries and put the new lithium battery in I did not switch the solar controller to the LifePo4 setting... maybe that screwed it up??
 
I know very little about solar, so limited value on what to do there. However, if the voltage coming to the batteries is that high, I would not want it connected for longer than needed as it looks like they say it might cause damage.
Which is easier might be a big one but I would look at seperating the two until I got a better plan for the voltage not going that high. Disconnect the batteries or disconnect the solar?
There seems like there would be a controller of some sort to adjust the voltage getting from the solar to the batteries but that is not a place I have every looked at much on RV and certainly no ideas of what or how things like that are done on RV!
My experience with solar has been related to industrial use where the equipment is far different. Output voltage far different, etc.

Yes, understand the distance thing as we had a lake place for a while and were always a bit nervous but had good neighbors that took good care of me! But they did no good keeping the chipmunks out of the air filter on my gas motorhome!

It sounds like your Solar Charge Controller is applying panel voltage directly to the battery. No configuration for battery type would cause your 12V SCC to send 19.4V to the battery. I'd guess either the SCC is wired incorrectly or the SCC is fried.
 
Yes, I agree with Old Navy. But what Lithium battery did you buy that would not have a BMS that would shut it down at a much lower voltage? And that voltage would ruin a lead acid also. With the battery disconnected, and the sun shining, put a meter on the battery leads. Check voltage. Then turn off the solar and do it again with shore power hooked up or a generator on. Check the voltage.
 
If there is 19.4v at the battery terminals then the BMS has likely already disconnected. It’s also possible that the battery is the problem, as when a PWM SCC has no battery connected, it outputs panel voltage…
