2020 Minnie 2401RG water leak under shower

Hello,

During our last trip in our 2401RG, I found an intermittent leak from under the shower pan. We did not use the shower and were using the fresh water tank. The pump did not cycle on and off so I don't think the leak is on the pressure or supply side. I did notice the water pooled on the floor after using the bathroom sink. Based on this on seeing water under the showing near the outside wall (Trailer door side) that appeared to be running along the floor under the shower pan. Due to the drain pipe and supply tubing plus limited access under the sink could not see exactly where it is originating from. I am considering pulling the shower out to get to the plumbing from the top. Just want to make sure I am not missing something before I do as I suspect removing and installing the shower will take a lot of work. Am going to contact Winnebago to see if I can get any shower installation diagrams.

Not up on what the trailer group does and we get very little online info to guide but I might guess the shower to be pretty close to the same install as motorhomes.
In many of them, the shower is several inches above the floor with the trap hanging down under the shower pan but above the RV floor. Any chancer there is a panel running along under the shower door which can come off somewhat easy to see under the shower?
That might let you sort if it is actually a supply or the drain and begin to get a better idea of where to look next?
Water leaks in RV can be a headache as the slope of the floor changes so often and it can take a bit before the water works it's way out where we see it.
If hard to follow where it came from after it dries, I find taping something like tissue to the floor for the next time it gets wet is handy. The tissue will change and let you see it has been wet, even after it dries.

There's a good chance the P-trap has frozen at some time and has a crack. Can you access it? If you can, try some spray leak-stop like the stuff on TV they use to make a boat from screen wire, clean it well first.

it is as you describe. I removed the front access panel under the door. There is so much stuff in the way, I can't see all the way in the back, which is where I think the leak is originating as there was a trail of water flowing towards the front (inboard side) from closer to the out side wall.

Thanks, I'll take a closer look at the P trap, but it appears it may be in the drain line from the sink that runs along the outside wall. Based on where the water appeared to be running from along the floor. But it is so far back I can't actually see the drain pipe.

I have no specific one to recommend but when we need to see in confined spaces, they can let us get a better idea. Basic idea is a cable that we can run back into small spaces and see a picture or video on our camera.

One of the things I like on this idea over just using the camera ow many more places I can get the view. I've found the I can add small stiff wire to the camera cable and that lets me bend the wire to different shapes to make it go back into places and point the way I want it to go. Especially useful if the access point is low and I want it to go up, as the cable alone seems to often be too flexible to let me direct it upward!

Check all water fixtures for fittings that have come loose bouncing & vibrating down the road. For shower remove shower fixture (4 Phillips screws ) with plate and silicone. Turn hot & cold water on one or both will be leaking. Tighten, but do not over torque plastic. Found it wasn’t the shower pan leaking & outside faucet sink with pullout cooktop 2 burner stove. Every 6 months check all water fittings especially if traveling. Eliminated factory hot water tank cross-over for flushing replaced with brass fittings due to that leaking. Own a 2021 Winnebago Minnie 2801 BHS. Full time RV lifestyle 3 years with 18,000 miles towing camper. Through many, rough construction zones around country. Part-time now.

Shower enclosure bottom tub sealed with clear silicone all the way around at walls, bottom slide rail outside & inside for preventive maintenance.

Be aware that you may not have a p trap at all. It may be a hepvo valve. They are a straight line duck bill design that is a straight section that is threaded in. DO not used a snake and be aggressive with it. I prefer milder drain cleaners and hot water for these.
