Hello, I just joined the RV and Winnebago world and already have an issue. When the previous owner was showing me the ropes, we turned the handle on the Fresh Water Valve from Normal to Tank Fill and back to Normal and ever since then water has been dripping from the Fresh Water Inlet. Suspect the fresh water valve is the issue as the dripping changes speed slightly when I turn the valve back and forth. Curious how cumbersome it is to take that entire panel out to likely replace the value. Unless there is a better solution?

Yes, fully agree that the last person doing this repair was not up on the best way.
Signs that somebody has been there before? That pop rivet through the label on front looks very odd and out of place! Screws everywhere but one pop rivet driven through a label?

But that is water under the bridge so you might be looking for the better way to get it done?
That is a good place to look over the interactive parts drawings here:

When getting into it and looking around, you can zoom, tilt, or turn things to get the best view of what they show and the detail is somewhat amazing!
When you turn the valve around to look behind and at what might be better, I can only guess as I have not seen the RV!
But what is right next to that compartment on the right side as viewed from the front?
empty space where you might remove the panel from that side to access that valve without taking all those other fittings off?
View from the back with screws marked?

Drawings may mislead but it "looks" like there is a panel shown in yellow on this snip which has screws to hold it? Maybe look at removing that panel instead of the front where all the handles, ports, etc. clutter the problem?

BUT?
Before going full blown, is there a chance that is a common cutoff valve that might only need a new faucet washer which could be replaced from the front? I might favor taking that center screw out to peek behind, looking for a simple way?

We never know what others may have done before, so I will wish you luck on the project!

Make sure you select the correct diagram for the year and model. Generally, you can access the inside of the water bay panel from underneath. There is a plate held on by about 6 bolts that are removed, and the plate comes off. You can get to the fittings on the back of the valve, remove them, and replace the valve with a new one if necessary. Order a valve from Amazon or order from Lichtenstein in Forest City, Iowa. Give them the make and model, and they will ship you the correct valve. The Winnebago parts catalog and drawings are great and will show you how your plumbing is done. Available on the Winnebago website at no charge.

Thanks for info. I did see plate for future reference. Note that I hit the fresh water pump and the dripping stopped. Apparently there is a check valve in the fresh water inlet and pressurizing the system helped close it.

That panel and valve looks just like the one in my 2017 Sunstar.

A couple of years ago I had to replace the tank fill valve because it didn't fully shut off so when the rig was connected to city water it would very slowly fill and then overflow the water tank.

From what I remember, after removing the various screws it wasn't that difficult to access the back side of the panel and replace the valve. There isn't much room to do 'alternative plumbing' so using the same style valve was, for me, the easiest -- unless you want to do some 'creative PEX-ing' to make another valve fit in that space. Once you see the plumbing maze behind the panel you will see what I mean, if your View is plumbed the same as my Sunstar.

The valve is pex on both sides, not threaded-and-pex like everything at the big box stores. I ended up buying a 10-pack of "PEX-B angle stop" from an Ebay seller. 10) 1/2" PEX X 1/2" PEX ANGLE STOP VALVE, 1/4 TURN, FULL PORT LEADFREE BRASS NSF | eBay . Now I have a lifetime supply.

BTW, the rivet thru the label is factory. That's how mine was. You've got to drill that rivet out to remove the valve. Do that first before you start removing the screws.

Good luck!

It’s a simple fix.. the city water flange has a check valve in it and it’s leaking. It’s the piece you attach the hose to.

I replaced all 3 valves on my ‘16 View after one started leaking.
Access the valves from a removable plate on the bottom of the compartment.
They are easily available from Amazon for less than 1/2 the dealer price.
