Hey everyone

I just purchased a 2018 Micro Minnie 1800BH recently and have been loving it. Im looking to add some solar to it so we can look at boondocking. I see the trailer is marked as "solar ready" but from what I see that just means theres a port next to the storage door that does through to the storage area. I know we need to get all of the inverters/charge controllers, batteries, etc. The part im having a hard time with is finding a way to get the solar wirets from the roof to the storage area? The plug on the side seems somewhat useless for roof mounted panels. The only place I could think of is using a back corner of the pantry since it seems to go nearly top to bottom and is where a lot of the 110V is routed. Its just also where the power converter and furnace is. Thats also on the other end of the camper from the front storage area meaning it would have a long cable run. Has anyone found a clean way to DIY it? I attached a few diagrams I got from Winnebago on my model. Any guidance would be much appreciated

I’m looking at similar project. I would probably chose to use the route that the AC power follows. i haven’t looked into this at all. Are you thinking about an LFP conversion too. If you find the solar charger controller take a picture and tell me where it’s located.

We have a 2108 Minnie Micro. I would suggest you talk with your dealer's service department. Ours is really helpful with mods and suggestions for projects like this.

We have a solar panel that came with the unit, mounted on the roof. It works well unless you get parked under trees. The manual we got is rather sparse on electrical details. I have seen Minnie Micros with solar panels mounted on the ground that use the solar port located on the side. I would be nervous drilling a lot of holes in the rubberized roof.

Again, I suggest you talk with the dealer's service department.
