My wife and I recently bought a 2025 Micro Minnie 2108FBS. Once home, we noted the pantry had a somewhat narrow entry but was a full 2ft. deep from front to back. We also noted there were limited storage options for flatware and kitchen utensils. At age 75, I wanted to improve access to the pantry and increase the storage options. I added side-out floors to the existing two shelves. I also added another top shelf for flatware and another bottom pullout shelf. See the photos. The side rails for the shelves (including the front and back rails) are made 1/16" x 1.5" extruded aluminum angle from Lowes. The slide hardware is also from Lowes per the photo.

Greetings Bruce,
That is really professional looking! I agree; that is a great improvement.
Do you have any other modifications in mind???

Thank you for the support and welcome, Eagle5. I do have a couple other mods in mind or done. I bought a mattress topper that was 2" longer than the mattress. I ended up putting a 2x6 at the head of the mattress, extending it from the front wall. I then replaced the plywood mattress support with a longer one to gain better support at the foot end. Besides that, I have a Linksys WiFi router and a Ubiquity antenna I want to use. They are Cat6/RJ45 devices. I plan to install a weather-protected tap through the side wall next to the TV rather than using the King antenna and buying their WiFi extender. I might post that one when I'm done. Thanks again for the welcome.

Welcome to FBS ownership, Bruce.

We have a 2021 2108FBS that we seem to be slowly modifying all the time but the pull-out shelves/floors for the pantry is something we hadn't considered yet so we'll probably steal this idea of yours.

Instead of adding a new hole to our sidewall, I had been considering using the already established cable run from the King antenna and using it to pull cable from the roof (if that makes sense) to run either Weboost antenna or even a Starlink one day.

I'll have to check that out. Don't know about putting an RJ45 outlet on the roof, but I'll look. Thank you.

You'll lose some width of the pantry when installing the pull-outs, but I figure you can use the side rails for things like spice cans. The ease to get back to the back of the pantry is well worth this small loss.

What other mods have you completed? I'm going to add 120v outlets on either side of the dinette table, just above the tabel-top and another above the range.

I also bought a mattress topper that is about 1-1/2" to 2" longer than the mattress. I put a 2 x 6 on edge at the head end of the mattress and extended the plywood platform beneath the it. Came out great!

We've done several small and big ones...

First "mod" we did was ditch the original mattress and replaced it with a nice "real" queen.

We ended up taking out the closets on either side of the bed because we wanted the feeling of more room and we really weren't using them efficiently anyway. We keep everything either under the bed or in the wardrobe in the bathroom. I think I'm going to add drawers to the storage under the bed (or a drawer and a shoe cave) so we don't have to lift the bed when we need to get something, we can just open the drawers.

Took the glass cover off the stove and replaced it with a handmade cutting board that covers the same area giving us more counter space. We almost always cook outside so access to the burners wasn't a priority.

Command hooks everywhere.

We put a full length mirror on the bathroom door.

I'll have to post a pic of it but I put a hole in the dinette seat closest to the outlet on the pantry and ran a power strip that's mounted just by the seat under the table. We unplug it when we put the slide in and plug it in when we're at our site and the slides out.

I'm sure there's a couple of others that I'm forgetting. Maybe I'll do a video walk-around of our rig to show it off.

Regarding recepticals for the slide-out, did you see the post from Explorer314 re recepticals? I just received the remaining parts to do what he did. I like it.

Thanks for pointing his post out. His dinette mod is cleaner than mine. I'll post a pic of mine there.

I am in the process of purchasing a Micro Minnie 2108 FBS ? Has anyone considered or thought about adding some some cabinets under the front shelf ? That is one of the nice features of the 2108TB.
Also the receiver has a 350lb limit. I have a small Honda and a carrier that should total around 300lbs
Has anyone tried carrying these? I was considering a Weigh Safe hitch that allows for the adjusting of the tongue weight as my neighbor has one and likes it. Any input on hitches? Thanks in advance as I have never owned a trailer but had a Class A but wanted something a bit less hassle and cheaper to maintain and I like the floorplan of these Micro Minnies for the size and the fact they are a bit narrower.

Receiver has a 350 lb limit?
Meaning that is all that is left in the load limit after the trailer current tongue load?
Or maybe 3500 lb limit?

Hi Bruce. We also purchased a 2108 (twin bed version) and have the same issues with the pantry. I’d like to replicate what you did. When you have time, could you snap a few pictures of the inside of the pantry so I can see how the aluminum angle and slides interact? We love your setup! Thanks for sharing! Pat

Same request here for @NM_Bruce. I'd like to see some inside pics of your pantry too. I can imagine a few ways to put install the slides since corner-to-corner inside is more like 26"

Thanks! Mike

Ahh , you mean the receiver on the rear… bad idea to put the Honda genny there, bouncing will rip it right off.
I put mine in the passthru, tipping it a bit, but I drain oil out after every use!
Hutch Mountain has propane conversion kit that allows you not to have to carry gasoline, and even though derated a bit it can still run a/c with a soft start from them as well.

I'm sorry Gents. I've been busy with other mods and have not been in here for a while. I'll take photos inside and underneath the slides to better illustrate. Essentially, I made the drawers as wide as I could to still clear the door and trim. That lost some width inside, but gained the full depth. The spacers i put on either side to allow width clearance I figure provides some storage near the openings for things like spices. More to come with photos.

Has anyone successfully carried a smaller trail bike (250 lbs) on a bike carrier (50 lbs) using the receiver at the rear of the trailer. I was planning to place some weight in the front of the trailer to account for weight and balance and of course adhering to the overall GVWR of 5500 and hopefully less. I was planning to take the trailer to a hitch guy who indicated he can add some welds to the rear area to help support the hitch receiver.

Hi Eagle5. I just posted another mod... to the Pots & Pans Drawer.

Very nice!!!

Hi again. This is for Spag1961 and IdahoHunter who asked for more info on my Pantry Mods. I added wooden side rails on either side for the drawer slide rails. To clear the front opening, the wood rail on the left was1.64" wide. The one on the right was 1.27" wide. See first photo. That allowed each slide-out tray to have a width of just over 7.5" inside the extruded aluminum side walls. Hope this helps.

Thank you so much for the post and pictures. I am new to my Micro Minnie and after using it a few times last year, I have come to the conclusion that a few modifications would really help. Now if I can just get up the courage to give it a try. Your pantry modification is high on my list. I am going to do some shopping and see what I can find based on you post. I have a 2024 Micro Minnie 2108fbs, Mouse, she could really use your ideas!!
