Time for another project.

In recent times I've noticed we have a soft spot in the floor between the bed and the storage bench area in the bedroom. On my list of planned work, pulling the carpet out of the bedroom is already on there so I figured i would replace when that time came.

Last year my smaller galley grey tank overflowed and took out a transfer switch. (Transfer Switch Recomendations 2008 Journey 39Z). This past weekend I once again found water coming through the power bay. Thankfully i used spacers to mount the replacement transfer switch off the back wall allowing water to roll behind the switch and leave it unharmed.

So i pulled the plumbing diagram and learned that not only by galley sink drains to the smaller tank, my bathroom sink does as well

I was able to pull the bench storage access panels to inspect and the vanity sink drain seems not to be leaking in the crossover to the tank. This leaves the loop from the galley sink to the tank.

I do have a couple of floor access panels partially under the bed I'll take a look at but I don't believe I can get to that connection very well without pulling carpet and at a minimum the soft damaged flooring panel.

Anyone ever encounter this? If so what did you find?
.

I'm still digging around at this one. I spent some time running water through each sink. Zero leaks at the point of tank entry. I've gotta dig around and see if i can find the drain side line and verify its not leaking.

You've got a bad deal chasing water inside. I have no good advise to pass along other than telling you it nearly drove me crazy one time. A leak, dripping on top of a tank that et it run different directions before it came out in a wet floor.
We were moving and it seemd like it ran a different direction every place we parked! YUCK!

Plumbing leaks are definitely not fun. I hope to find something on the drain side but honestly I suspect there may be some cracks in the tank on the top side of it. Only way I'll be able to verify that and repair it is to pull the tank 🤦‍♂️
