2007 Voyage GFCI Outlet Won’t Reset

2007 Voyage gfic troubleshooting. Tested and following it would not reset. there are 3 or 4 gfic outlets.

We have little info to know what RV you have beyond being a 2007 Voyage as there are several floorplans and some are 30, some 50 amp.
The first thought might be that each circuit has to have 110AC to reset. But if you have tested that good, it sounds like there is likely a problem with AC going to ground to make the circuit trip?
But there may be some difference in the way we speak. Do you mean you have that many actual GFCI outlets or do you mean there are that many downstream outlets controlled by one GFCI?
If only one GFCI and it is getting power to reset, I would then think that outlet has failed.

The first thing to do is to remove EVERY device plugged into any RV AC outlet. Then try to reset the GFCI. If it resets, you have a defective device somewhere. If it still doesn't reset, you have a wiring, GFCI or outlet problem. At that point, you can test to see what other outlets are effected. A simple plug in outlet tester or meter can help you make that determination. With the GFCI tripped and no devices plugged into any outlet, the hot to neutral on any outlet should read infinite resistance. Only test the outlets that have no AC because of the GFCI trip.

May not apply, but wanted to post on the off chance it helps. Had a GFC in the galley area that kept tripping, the “string” was a GFC right at the entry door and then an outlet in the galley, another outlet in a storage bay underneath the galley, and then the outlets in the bath, basically, the run went from the front of the coach to the back opposite corner. I noticed the issue one AM trying to make coffee, the outlet in the galley wasn’t working.

Initially thought it was the GFCI as it wouldn’t reset, tried replacing but no help. Tried replacing the downstream outlets, no help. Had a buddy come over (former engineer and far better electrician skills then my basic DIY ones). In the galley under the drawers was a junction box where the GFCI was connected to the outlet in the galley and then the downstream ones. The romex coming out of the junction went across the “floor” of the drawer area and then made a 90 degree turn “up” where it entered the wall and went to the galley outlet. That piece of romex was cut a little too short during install, very little slack (read none) where it made the 90 degree turn into the wall, it had rubbed the wall over time eventually causing a short in the wire, the GFCI was doing its job.

Replaced the romex with a longer piece and rebuilt the junction area, good as new.

Long shot, but if things keep tripping it could be the wires somewhere. Hope that helps and if not thanks for reading anyway!

The tricky thing about forums like this is the way we get less info from the post than we need. IF we knew which RV they have, it is semi-simple to look at the correct drawings to tell them which outlets are fed by that GFCI.
But when little info is given out, very little help can come back! It's the old slot machine of life. The more we put in, the more likely we get something good out!
