2 2 2 Driving Days Guidance

This is one I have struggled with over my retirement years. I spent a life time in the Military and my mind is focused on the destination and getting there as expediently as possible. But the "Squirl" part of me looks at all the "side quests" along our path and I want to see all of them also. So we kind of shoot from the hip, most of the time.

Where our big decisions come from is "have we been there before." the closer we are to home the less we stop and the more we drive/tow because we have either seen it before or it is with a day drive to see some other time. When we travel back to TX from Nevada we'll often and take a different route to see something new on a trip we have made a lot. I guess what I'm rambling on about is, I had to work real hard to get away from the fixed time hacks. It was stressing everyone out, I was like a European train conductor, times have to me kept or things fail. Once I was able to shed that weight, trips become so much more.. fun is the word my wife and kids used. Such a strange word, fun...

That's my advice, it's worth what it cost.
