I found a thread from 2013 that did not answer my question.

My electric driveshaft/parking brakes locked up as I was leaving a campground. Fortunately, I was driving slowly. The only way we could move it was to disconnect the linkage to the driveshaft brake.
The 'brake' light started flickering and the brakes started chattering just before they locked up. It may be an electrical problem, although the mechanic thinks it is a problem with the hydraulic pump. He will look at it more closely next week.

Has anyone on this forum had this problem before?

Thanks.

There are plenty of threads discussing this common problem with Winnebagos. I have a 2000 Brave and have spent several thousand $ gating to "fixed". I finally gave up and replaced the transmission with one that had a parking pawl that eliminated the need for the electro/mechanical piece of that GM/Workhorse installed. No problems since. You'd be better of financially if you replaced the transmission if this is you first problem the the "ugly green switch".

Thank you for the information. I had done a search and only found one thread from 2013. I will have more information on it thins evening when the mechanic has finished.

Could you please tell us what model RV you’re talking about? It helps to know the year, model and model number (floor plan). Winnebago makes dozens of models so saying it’s a 1999 Winnebago just isn’t enough info.

Thanks
