‘New’ 2018 Minnie drop 170s and now I’m an RV’er

Retired couple with 3 shiz tzu’s buy small camper, hilarity ensues. Now that I have it I realize there are so many questions that I didn’t ask. It works fine parked in the yard. Now trying to do my due diligence so we can take our first trip. Plenty of questions incoming. Thanks in advance.

You don’t know what you don’t know. Rather than plan a trip. Don’t over think it and load up and go 20 mi away and camp for a weekend. That education will be the thing you’ll need to know to plan a “trip.” Driveway camping doesn’t give you the whole story. Go far enough away that it’s difficult to run home easily but not so far that the planning is a big deal.

A campground/rv park has a great wealth of knowledge. Everyone there has been where you are. Do not be afraid to ask your neighbor for help or advice, its just like the forum but face to face.

For our 25th anniversary, husband and I decided we’d get more bang for our buck buying an RV than taking a trip. We ended up getting a 2004 Minnie Winnie, and we actually started off “tailgating” our local Mardi Gras parade… less than 5 minutes away. Next we went a little further, and I added to a shopping list in Notes on my phone each time. Reading forums like this and joining local Facebook RV groups proved invaluable. Over 5 years later and we just got home from a perfect weekend getaway.
