Lots of good advice . My only suggestion would be to get two 25’ hoses. Many places 25’ is more than enough. You can always screw the two together. Much easier to handle.

I did not remove , just cleaned surface then applied tape. It depends on how the chaulking was applied,the flatter the surface the better. Just take your time to be sure all air bubbles are removed.

Once a year I have the roof washed and waxed . I use "new finish" . By keeping the roof maintained it helps eliminate the streaks when it rains. Probably just me but I think it helps !
