theres a dash rocker switch(radio pwr) top is radio and bottom is house. Switch it to house and the clicking will stop. I believe it has to be in radio position for surround sound to work.

I dont believe you ext cord will handle the amp draw of the second comp cutting in. Maybe thats why it wont work on ext cord but will otherwise. Try plugging in without ext cord if poss.

my problem was with the button switch inside the door jam. It worked loose just slightly but was enough to not let the door lock as designed. Fix was to tighten them. Simple but fixed mine
