Glad to find this forum.. I saw a post on rv.net referring to this site. I have an old '97 34RQ that I bought in Feb with 36,000 miles on it and I really like it. It has everything that can be put on one except a satelite dish, which I don't need. Have had it out on 3 different campouts and i/we love it!

May I have some good karma too please?

Hubby and I have a 2008 Winnebago Destination, purchased June 2008. We have been RVers for years but recently retired so now can really enjoy it.

Hello everyone, this is my first post on this site. I am considering a 1991 32' Winnebago. It has a Chevy 454 and has about 80K miles. ANY comments appreciated concerning pros and cons, what to look for, etc.
This will be my first RV purchase, so I am truely a newbie.
Thanks!

Among many things on a 1991 with 80,000 miles would be has the engine been overhauled and at what mileage was it done if it has.

Thanks for the nice welcome, Petro and Monaco Mama!
Homer, good point, I'll ask about that. The transmission is another concern I need to ask about, probably a 700R4 overdrive. Is there anything problematic about the construction design or equipment of that era Winnebago that I should be aware of? Water leaks, weak frames, rear end/brake issues, electrical gremlins, etc?
I'm familiar with automobiles and the problems some makes are prone to, I figured the same applies to RV's.
Once again, thanks for the welcome and any other responses.

We are picking up a new 2009 Vectra WD in Forest City on November 17, 2008. I have been following this forum for over a year trying to learn enough to feel like I can take it out of the dealer's lot. So much to learn and so little time. My wife and I have been camping in a 1986 Starcraft Popup for years. We are looking forward to spending a few years traveling around the country looking for a place to retire.
I will post some pictures after we pick it up.

I was just getting settled into the Monaco Owner's Forum (we have a gas Monaco Monarch and was shopping for a SKQ front kitchen model) when we bought a 2007 Itasca Horizon 40TD. Guess it would be appropriate to request changing the Forum identification below my name. (Since we now own two rigs, can I list both Itasca and Monaco???

Going back a few rigs, we did own a small 22' Itasca Spirit for a while and belonged to the WITs and attended a couple of California and regional rallies back in 2004-05.

Hope to get involved with this forum as we research questions on our new Horizon. I won't just be a lurker, but will be a poster, too.

Welcome to the Winnebago Industries Owner's Forum. Congratulations on your purchase of a Itasca Horizon. I see MM is shedding a few tears but she will just have to understand you are moving up.

We will be looking forward to your posts & traveling experiences.

I'm a newbie yeah, BUT I'm a newbie with a "new to me" classic 1985 Winnebago Chieftain. A previous lurker out looking for info on that world wide web I came across this site and reference to a contact at WI that might help me obtain an owner's manual for my new ride. The contact's name is Bryan Funke and I can't say enough about the level of service he's provided me. Top notch.

Anyway, I'm off on a 2,000 mile inaugural ride from Ottawa to Florida next week once a few initial repairs are taken care of in the next few days. Hope to meet some of you on the road. I'll have a Red Kawasaki KLR650 racked on the back of my unit and I answer to Greg if it's not spoken too harshly.

Cheers!

Welcome to the forum & the Winnebago Industries Owner's Forum. We are glad you found us. We have a wealth of experience here and folks who have been more than willing to share it with you. Post often and don't be afraid to ask questions.

I also had the good fortune of meeting Brian Funke this past summer at GNR and he is a user friendly guy. We have had many reports of help he has furnished to Winnebago Owners.

I wish for you to have a safe trip to Florida.

Don

P.S. If you would like some Winnebago Karma all you have to do is ask.
