New Vista owner - Chevy Colorado Toad?

Love my vista with the new V8. Thinking about flat towing a Chevy Colorado 4 wheel drive. Wondering if anyone else is doing this with the new engine. Very new to RVing

Welcome!

If I may offer a suggestion on a different topic. It’s always a plus when you include details such as the Year and floor plan descriptor. Most of us add that information to our Signature in our Profile. That way we don’t have to remember to type it all the time.

I’ll add some details to your thread title to see if others chime in about the Colorado toad vehicle.

Cheers!

My oh my, you got a brand new 2021 Vista 29VE Why on earth would you ever want to get out of it and drive a toad

Congratulations on your new RV.

We are at 18 months on our new 2019 Sunstar 29VE, when we bought the RV we owned a Cadillac SRX that is 4 wheel down towable; but we never fitted it as such. We sold the SRX about 2 months ago because it doesn't fit with what we do right now. I drive and park the 29VE everywhere

I tow a Jeep Wrangler unlimited with the old V-10. With the new V-8, I suspect you'll have no trouble at all. I'm happy with towing my 5000 lbs - the limit.

I'm guessing your owner's manual will confirm that you're good to go with the right procedure. Outfitting the truck with the towbar, brake, and connection to the lights is an investment, but if you're happy with the truck, do it, and as I said, it's an investment.

I tried to hold out for the new v-8 but was impatient and was wearing out my older Class C with the first-year V-10 in it. It still was going strong, but I can tell you the 1997 V-10 in that was underpowered because of cooling and first-gen. Part of what I was waiting for was the new instrument cluster - it felt like in the 21 years of the V-10 era, they made very few changes!

Any other general questions on towing a dinghy, happy to answer.

Re-reading my first sentence - pretty sure you can't fit a V-10 in a Jeep!

I got a V-10 in my Jeep Wrangler, but I still don't tow it because I have not seen any 6 wheel down tow kits.

Towing a Chevy Colorado

Hi Paul
Welcome to the forum. We just recently purchased a 2022 Adventurer 29B and tow a 2021 4 wheel drive Chevy Colorado. I found it to be easy to tow and reduced my MPG by 1. Just be sure that you follow the documented process for putting the Colorado transfer case into neutral.
