I tow a Jeep Wrangler unlimited with the old V-10. With the new V-8, I suspect you'll have no trouble at all. I'm happy with towing my 5000 lbs - the limit.
I'm guessing your owner's manual will confirm that you're good to go with the right procedure. Outfitting the truck with the towbar, brake, and connection to the lights is an investment, but if you're happy with the truck, do it, and as I said, it's an investment.
I tried to hold out for the new v-8 but was impatient and was wearing out my older Class C with the first-year V-10 in it. It still was going strong, but I can tell you the 1997 V-10 in that was underpowered because of cooling and first-gen. Part of what I was waiting for was the new instrument cluster - it felt like in the 21 years of the V-10 era, they made very few changes!
Any other general questions on towing a dinghy, happy to answer.
