New Travato 59K Owner

Hello;

I just wanted to say "Hi". We recently purchased a 2021 Travato 59K (September 30th) in Granite. We purchased at Colonial RV in Millstone NJ from Bobby and had also worked with Kevin. Love how they treated us, made for a great buying experience.

Our plans are to explore possible places to retire (in the future) and to use as our "base camp" for Jeep events that I like to attend. I like to tinker so have already started on some minor modifications to make our trips a little more comfortable.

Basically this will be used predominantly by my wife and I but our adult son might take it from time to time. We have not had a chance to take a trip as of yet but really looking forward to it.

Happy Adventuring!

Dan

Welcome Dan!

Don't be shy about getting that Camper Van out as soon as possible. Many new RVs come from the factory and the RV dealers with issues that need attention. Pretty much the only way to know about these things is with repeated use.

We see people every day that buy a new RV, park it "for the season" and plan on using it in a few months. Then on their first trip they find X, Y and Z problems and have trouble getting the dealer to take care of these things in a complete and timely manner.

That's why we always encourage folks to get out right a way. In fact, we normally suggest people pick up the RV and go camping right then. That way when you find problems AND find that you don't remember how everything is supposed to work you can immediately return to the dealer and get things taken care of.

Hopefully, you'll find little or no instances of things not working as expected - but be aware that that is not very common.

I'd also suggest you look up "The Fit RV" on YouTube. They are long time Travato owners that have made dozens of videos on the topic and some really great modifications to their RV, too.

Here's one you might find interesting:

Thank you!

We purchased our T and did all the paperwork so we own it on Sept 30th but made a deal with the dealer to let them keep it until Dec 5th on the showroom floor so they can let other potential buyers see one. That's the only reason we have not had it out yet.

This is great information and I will take a look at this video series.

I appreciate the help
