New to the Site; Minnie Winnie 22R

New to the Forum,

We bought a 2016 Minnie Winnie 22R pre COVID and have used it a bunch, Been across the county twice and lots of long weekend trips on the east coast. Looking to upgrade the Mattress? Any recommendations?

Hi ya Sharpe. We have a 22M and we bought a 2” thick blue foam mattress pad. It’s made a world of difference. We also used them in our Travatos. They use the same type mattress as our 22M. We bought it on Amazon. Ours is a little different from yours I believe. It’s a 2 piece mattress due to the slide-out.

I don’t know what mattress comes in your MW but I’d bet it’s a non-standard size.

There are a few online sellers that offer special RV sized mattresses. If you do a Google search I’m sure find them. Depending on your location many cities have a local mattress company that can make you anything you want.

We’re near San Antonio and our local company, Cantwell Mattress made us a custom fit mattress to order for our previous Class C.

Do you remember how much that cost? On our 22M we have a 2 piece Queen mattress. Due to the slide out, one is actually a tad thicker than the other. It’s definitely much more comfortable with the topper. But if I could find a comfortable custom mattress where I didn’t need the topper, that would be even better.

I think it was about $400.

Corner Mattress Replacement

We relaced our corner bed on our 25B. We used Mattress Insider. Custom made, several options to choose from.

Do you remember the cost? The 22R is a corner bed with the corner cut off just like yours. And was it a great improvement?

We paid $600 for their top-of-the-line product. My wife likes a soft mattress. We no longer need a mattress topper. The original mattress was 54" X 80". We ordered ours 53" X 80" so it is easier to make the bed. The 54" was rather tight.

We just purchased our first travel trailer (2529RG) and we already know that the bed is much too hard for us. It was great to read your solution! I.m off to browse Amazon now. 😌
