New to Site - View 24J

Hi to all. I am new to this site but not to the RV life. Recently got a Winnebago View 24J. Sold a Thor Chateau Super-C to downsize and get back to the Winnebago life. Had one before and was very happy with it, not so much with the Thor.

Still learning about the new rig, been out 3 times with another trip in the near future. Hope to learn from everyone and maybe share some things I have learned over the years...

Thanks

Hi Qrita723,
The View 24J is a nice floor plan; plenty of room on the inside, but still compact on the outside. We often use our Minnie Winnie 22M for day trips as well as extended outings. That is the beauty of a smaller motorhome.
When my wife and I rented all four sizes of motorhomes from Cruise America, we developed our size and layout preference, but we also learned that the Thor quality isn't the best; especially in the cabinetry. Glad that you have a Winnebago; I know I am.
Welcome to the forum.

I am enjoying my View. Downsizing from 35 ft to 25 ft takes a little getting used to (just have to bring less stuff) but I find I like the smaller size better. The Thor was nice but had some issues with mechanics and the cabinets popping open on rougher roads. Had a Winnebago before and just liked the way it never let me down. Happy to have one again.

Thanks

New to RV life

Hi folks. We bought a used (2018) Minnie Winnie 22R two years ago. I've made a couple minor upgrades: Maxxair 4500K in the bathroom, SAM-1-81 Range Hood, Hellwig sway bars front & rear, Bilstein shocks, front and back, and replaced both roof vent lids. I just finished applying undercoating where underside of sheet metal was rusting bad (bottoms of rear storage areas, bottom of small storage by RV door, and bottom and inside of battery storage area. I used Rust-Oleum Auto Primer and then POR-15 Rubberized Under Coating. It all looks great, time will tell if it holds up.

Hope to see you on the road. Safe travels!

Hi PadFamily,
The Minnie Winnie 22R is a very similar floor plan to the View 24J, with the added benefit that folks don't give you a dirty look when you come out of the bathroom (ha-ha-ha.) I do like POR-15; it works well. Your upgrade list looks great.
Welcome to the forum.
