New Micro Minnie with generator question

We just purchased a 2021 Micro Minnie and want a generator for the AC. Ours is 13,500 btu. Has anyone used a Champion 3400 watt (dual fuel) using just propane? Champion says 3060 watt start up and 2700 running using propane and propane is what we prefer. I know the unit is heavy, but it will always be in the truck and just used on the tailgate so we don't have to lift it. Just wondering how propane for this generator has worked starting up your AC.

Hi Dog,
You don’t have to get a 3000w or larger generator to run your a/c. Many people are happy running their a/c on a 2000 - 2500w generator, and installing a micro-air easy start. People swear by their Honda’s, but it’s expensive, and then you have the added cost for the propane kit. My MM is new as well (October). I would have a hard time hefting the 100lb Champion in and out of my truck bed. Fortunately, Champion has just come out with a dual fuel 2500w generator weighing in at only 39lbs. I bought one with the idea to install an easy start. I cant tell you yet whether this plan will work because the weather has prevented me from installing the easy start. But the cost of the easy start plus the cost of the 2500w df is less than the cost of the Champion 3400, and you’ll burn less fuel. I don’t like that my Champion is hard to start on propane, but after getting a tip from another post regarding the regulator, it’s now tolerable.
