Red face Just purchased Minnie Drop2017 170K...

and I'm a little overwhelmed, excited to start an adventure but worried. I am working my way through how to do things and can't get the furnace to work ( blower works.) I have a full propane tank and have tried starting the inside burners but the gas isnt getting there. Someone told me it takes a long time for the tube to fill after being off and empty for the winter. So I left the propane on while I was at work. Came home and there was a very obvious propane smell outside the trailer but not inside at all. So am i right in assuming I have a leak and / or a blockage? Is there a way for me to find it?
I was also disappointed that some of the slideout bottom panel near the bunks is coming off but I think I can fix that at least

Thanks for any advice,
Leigh

Hi and congratulations!
The “takes a long time” for the LFP gas to reach the heater or stove top is measured in minutes, not hours.

Smelling propane outside the trailer or inside is not a good sign. Turn off the propane at the tank for safety.

Now, are you capable of troubleshooting and fixing this kind of thing on your own? Or do you need the dealer’s help?

Did the dealer show you the working furnace and stove top during the pre-delivery inspection? Because they should have.

Unless you are handy at fixing these kinds of issues you may need to take the TT back to the dealer and insist the fix all issues asap. They are supposed to confirm the operation of every function to you during the PDI while showing you how to operate the trailer’s systems. And if during that process something doesn’t work they should have corrected the issue before you sign the purchase paperwork.

This was a private sale so there was no dealer involved. And I am fairly handy

turns out that there is an excessive flow valve which will engage if you turn on the flow too fast, which I guess i did. Any way I have working burners and heat!
