Hello to the forum looking at the Winnebago View

Hi folks. Out of respect for the members of the forum, I wanted to introduce myself. I'm Mark, my wife's Aleisha. We're looking at the View. First timers looking to build a useful body of knowledge. Thanks in advance.

Hi Mark & Aleisha,
The View is a nice motorhome. I would also like to suggest that you try renting a time or two, to help develop a taste for what you do and do not like. Some trade-offs to consider are:
  1. Amount of time you spend for each trip (a weekend, or a week, or a month?)
  2. Ability to park in various places
  3. The need for a Toad (a towed vehicle) or to not have a Toad at all
  4. Floor plan needed space versus ultimate motorhome external size
Welcome to the forum.

Howdy Mark & Aleisha,

Welcome to the forum, you likely get some good information and advice here, so ask away!

Our current View is our third (well, the second one was a Navion, but it’s the same as a View). All have been purchased new. Each has been a different floor plan, so we have some experience and opinions () about those.

We’d be happy to help if we can.

We have now owned our View 24 D for 2 months and overall love it.

Pay attention to the rated weights of the models you are looking at. They have a GVWR of 11,030 pounds and empty weights of 9,705 to 9,965 pounds depending on model and options.

That leaves you only 1000-1300 pounds of carrying capacity.

So, once you subtract your and your wife's weight you are going to have less than 1,000lbs for cargo, water, and trailer tongue weight.
They are easy to overload.

Ours drives like a dream compared to other class C,s we looked at and drives much nicer than our first Class A gasser.

We have a 2022 View 24D and love it. We have put 7500 miles on it in 5 months. It was awesome in Yellowstone. Small enough to camp at Canyon campground.
It needs Lithium House batteries. I'm about to make the swap. Since refrigerator runs on battery power, it can pull down the batteries overnight when off grid camping.

A really handy spot to look at lots of details without having to drive to a dealer or even get out of the chair?

There is an interactive "Parts catalog" that is often skipped over as we don't need parts if we have no RV yet! Don't skip it as a way to find what each RV has even down to where and what size holding tanks each has and floor plan.
https://catalog3d.winnebagoind.com/menu/Parts.htm

Example for the 22 View 24 D? First page where you can choose which parts like electrical, plumbing, etc at the right to bring up those items.

Click these snips to get a better view of what's there.

Name:	22 view.jpg
Views:	39
Size:	142.5 KB
ID:	184767

Questions like how much propane or where is the tank or lines? Click LP and it comes up on the drawing with the parts listed at right!

Name:	lp.jpg
Views:	33
Size:	140.7 KB
ID:	184768
Click on a part on the drawing and it pops up on the list or click the name on the list and it pops up yellow on the drawing!
Better than taking a salesmans word for lots of things?
