My wife and I purchased our 2008 Voyage last February from a Craigslist add in Virginia. We had a nearby relative go take a peak after going over the add. Apparently the owner had taken very good care of the RV so we made a deal. We are in Florida and flew up to close the sale.
I had never seen the inside of an RV before, but my wife had with our great neighbors two houses down. You may wonder why in the world we jumped in so fast. It seemed to make perfect sense since we needed to vacate our home for major renovations after Hurricane Michael.
After completing the purchase we drove back down the coast and are now residing in our front yard like so many people are still doing in our area.
The transition has been very comfortable for us since we adapt to change fairly well. It also helps that we have been boat owners for most of our lives and I am somewhat of a gear head.
We've had a few minor things go wrong and that has made me get on the learning curb fast. My background in the merchant marines (retired) has really helped.
Thanks for reading and hope you nice folks can help with questions when I post them in the right forum. First thing I'm going to ask is about toads.
I just came back from a week in port st joe, and i had to visit mexico beach next door.
Several things struck me. One was the extent of unrepaired damage. I learned that many insurance companies are slow to pay until they discover the extent of coverage from fema. Second, i couln't believe how many rvs are parked in vacant lots where there used to be homes.
I am impressed with your positive attitude. Keep it up!

Thank you Hans. We are a 20 minute drive west of Mexico Beach. Our neighborhood was devastated. Several homes already pushed down and likely more to come. The two story homes took more damage. Our single story was better than some. Home is pretty much gutted inside. One would have better luck getting the Pope for dinner than hiring a contractor. We do enjoy our RV. An oasis in the desert.

Welcome Topsail! Wonderful people on this site and a huge catalog of posts that can probably answer just about anything that comes your way with regards to you Voyage! Good luck with the rebuild. I was stationed in Pensacola aboard the USS Lexington back in the 70s while awaiting nuclear power school. Gorgeous area!

Thank you all for the welcome. I found the Winnebago links for parts and schematics while looking around. What a treasure trove. I spent quite some time going through all that and then realized I had to get outside and do some work. Haha.
