Greetings from Redding, CA

Hello everyone:
We have a 2005 Journey 39F. We bought it in 2013 when we were close to retirement. We have trailered for about 15 years or so but it was becoming increasingly hard to manage the hitch. I think everyone knows how that goes. Transitioning to a motorhome was probably the best decision we made.
We started out pulling our car on a tow dolly. That also got old really fast so we finally had our car wired for 4 down and that was another great decision.
It's so great that there is a forum for just our motorhomes. It makes sharing stuff so much better. Hope to see some of you on the road.

We followed a similar trajectory - and agree about the tow dolly. Wiring for 4-down was one of the best decisions that we ever made. It really wasn't that difficult (for those who may be intimidated to do it yourself - like I was). There are lots of folks with experience who were helpful and the instructions were straight-forward. After years of travel without towing anything, the flexibility is very much appreciated - and easy/quick to hitch & unhitch.
It's nice to see someone of similar experience on-board!
