Smile First time Winnie owner- 2014 Itasca Suncruiser 35P

Hi this is Tom and my wife is Roberta. We recently traded a 2011 Four winds for a 2014 Itasca Suncruiser 35P. My wife and I are recently retired and have had the RV life on a part time basis and now plan to get some more use out of our new Winnie. We have not had time to use it yet since we bought it in January and put it in inside storage for the winter. We still both work part time but our work is very flexible to time off. Besides if they don’t we will just quit. We have some vacations planned already, but we are really thinking about snowbirding next winter down in Florida. If anyone has any suggestions on a good park down there that is reasonable let us know. We would like it close to Fort Lauderdale since our son lives there. Also I’m thinking about buying the King tailgater for Dish TV for some better reception. Has anyone had any experience with it and does it work well? I like the pay as you go feature. Anyways we are on some RV sites and really enjoy the feedback we see about repairs, adventures, problems to look for and ways to enjoy your motorhome on these sites. So I’m looking forward to another site to look at. Thanks for letting me join.

Welcome

Well we have stayed several times at the Kissimmee RV park reasonable rates great pool and dog friendly. Phone 1 407 396 6655

As for dish I have used dish on several of my RVs, and love it. I just mounted a dish playmaker on the roof of our 2004 Winnebago Brave with a 211z, I believe that’s right, but I would go with a Wally as the receiver.

I bought the playmaker from eBay for 105.00 and the mounting feet for 46.00 from winegard, installed it myself works great.

I have posts of the install if you search around.

Hope this helps. BTW Kissimmee RV park is only five miles from Disney

As in most things, you will find a wide range of thinkingon products/service of this sort.
On this one, we are totally on the ohter side ofthe opinions of Dish! We found it to be a total disaster for many points.

Customer service is the worst of all the sat. services we have used( ATT U-verse, Direct and some other no name ) Their routine is to start first with two levels of help. The first is some group who does not know anything about Rv and very little about English!
They have a hard time understanding why we move our satallite dish and ask if Texas if close to Florida!

They have a sheet of steps to follow and if it doesn't match the script, they ask us to unplug and start over after checking all the wiring. However if they do an update on your Walley brain while you have it in storage, it may not match the sheet they are using and you have to force them to go to the next two steps of support to getpeople who know why you need the undate downloaded first!

But on the upside, we have been out of ABC for several months due to price disputes but today received notice it will be restored soon! It might be noted that there is no discount/rebate when they cut off service on various channels, just a note telling you to complain but not to them!
The lack of service is always the other companies fault, right?

I would switch but there is no guarantee the others are going to be any better as it is a totally dergulated field!

Never experienced the problems Mr M describes, when you call Dish ask for the Outdoors unit they are the ones that handle RVs.

Dish seems to have figured out the RV service issues. When we had Dish it was exactly as Morich stated. But now I have heard they can do much more via an online app and they’ve improved telephone support for RVers, as well.
