Warranties are similar to insurance policies, in that if you have one you hope you don’t have to use it. ‘Cause if you do, something has gone seriously wrong. With any RV new or used something will go bad eventually. The question is will you have the funds to fix whatever it is. If you choose to get one pay especially attention to the exclusions, that is where the trouble starts.

Bought a 2012 Itasca Suncruiser 37F, three years ago, and purchased an extended warranty. It only had 32K miles on it. My claims came to about 75% of the warranty cost. I didn't get all my money back, but that 25% was a cheap price for the peace of mind it gave me. Obviously it wouldn't be a good deal, if I didn't have any claims. Something is bound to go wrong with a 10 year old RV with 100K+ miles. Make sure you know what is covered and what isn't. The corrosion exclusion can get you on a 10 year old RV. Also make sure that whomever submits a claim for a repair knows the ins and outs of warranty claims. The wrong wording can lead to a claim denial.

There are a zillion posts on here and www.irv2.com answering this question.

No one can answer for you.

It's not "like an insurance policy" it IS an honest to goodness insurance policy. It's no warranty.

You are gambling that your RV will have a lot of "covered" repairs. They are gambling that you won't and that if you do they can figure out a way to disqualify their having to pay for it.

Keep in mind, to get a repair under a service contract you have to take it to a place that will honor the contract, you have to get everything estimated and approved BEFORE anything can start. And, they write these contracts in such a way that THEY get the say on parts and what they will cover and what they won't cover.

However, if you decide to get a service contract it's best to not buy it from the selling Dealership. Those are always over priced, over promised and under performing.

Due to the age and mileage you might consider a chassis only policy to cover the expensive diesel and drive train items.

Good luck with your decision.
