A Winnebago Class A Newbie 2022 SunStar 31B

Hello All:

Just took delivery on a 2022 SunStar 31B with the new V-8. We traded (dumped) a 2015 Thor ACE 29.2.

Looking forward to discussions on topics like solar panels, inverter, and all the stuff I wanted but never had in Thor.

Has anybody made chassis mods like steering stabilizer, stabilizer bars and SumoSprings on the 2021 Ford F53 18,000 lb chassis? If so I would much appreciate your insights.

Hi Lark75, welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new Winnebago! We have been pretty happy with the two that we've owned. I would suggest you drive your new coach a few times as you would normally use it and see how it handles before doing any chassis mods. We never made any handling mods to either of ours and were happy with the way they handled. That being said, the V8 and 6 speed transmission in our new Vista is a nice improvement over our old RV.

I agree with Bones2003, it's easy to get caught up in the suspension mod discussions and convince yourself that you need something when you don't.

As to solar, etc., these have everything to do with how you'll be using your new MH, camping without shore power, etc. A key factor will be what kind of appliances you have. If you're "all electric" with a residential refrigerator and electric stove, your off-grid power needs will be greater. Experience with your new MH will help you determine your needs.

Welcome to the Forum, I agree with Bones also. Get to know her and then you can make decisions as to what is needed. As previous owners of an RV you guys will figure out what you need.

Safe Travels.
