Question 2011 Ellipse Gen Hood Won’t Open

We bought a 2011 Itasca Ellipse a few weeks back from a Dealership as a consignment. Today I tried to open the front to access the generator and found that the handle when pulled is unseated from it’s notch but I can’t figure out why it won’t open. The dealer is useless and doesn’t have a clue, please advise.

Hi Fred,
I'm wondering if these two older threads might offer some insight:

Welcome to the forum.

Thank you but I’ve read those before but I still can’t figure out how to open the front hood. Wish there was a video showing how it’s done, thoughts?

Hi again Fred,
Here are some more resources for the 2011 Ellipse:
Brochure
Manuals & Diagrams
Parts & More Parts
In the Owner's Manual. On page 3-28, it says how to open the front hood.
The Parts shows the Front Body Panel & Hood, but I'm not sure if you have the 42AD or 42QD, or if that makes any difference.

Have you called Winnebago? I have found them real helpful with many items. Sometimes they are stumped but the worse you can get for asking is a, "No!

Semper Fi, I am totally stumped I crawled under the generator and had the wife pull the latch and I pushed from below with no success. I saw where the the latch disengages but I’ll be darned if I can move it. I’ll try your suggestions on Tuesday when everyone gets back to work. Thanks again.
